I’ll be honest – when I first stumbled upon Design Rooms Verona, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone. But you know what? Sometimes the places that don’t scream luxury from their titles end up being the most pleasant surprises. This little gem sits right in the heart of Verona, and I mean actually in the center where you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing, not in some distant suburb that hotels love to call “convenient to downtown.”

The rooms here are – well, they live up to the “design” part of the name. Clean lines, smart use of space, and honestly some of the most comfortable beds I’ve encountered in this price range. The bathrooms are compact but thoughtfully laid out, with good water pressure (which, let’s face it, can be hit or miss in older Italian buildings). What really caught my attention was how quiet it stays despite being so centrally located. I mean, you’re walking distance from the Arena and all the main piazzas, but somehow the street noise doesn’t really penetrate the rooms. The owners clearly put some thought into the soundproofing, which is something you don’t always get in boutique places like this.

Staff-wise, they’re genuinely helpful without being overly formal – more like knowledgeable locals than hotel employees going through the motions. When I asked about dinner recommendations, I got actual neighborhood spots rather than the usual tourist traps. The check-in process was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM since they’re not always ready for early arrivals (learned that one the slightly hard way). With an 8.2 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most people, and I can see why. It’s not trying to be some grand palazzo experience – it’s just a well-run, thoughtfully designed place that gets the fundamentals right. If you’re the type who values location, comfort, and a bit of style without paying resort prices, this spot actually makes a lot of sense for exploring Verona properly.

  What could be improved: The room is much smaller than in the pictures. You literally sleep next to the toiler, which is inconvenient. And you have no place to sit within the room.

  – Great location: 5 minutes away from the old town
  – It was very quiet (except the last 2 days when a neighbour started renovations upstairs)
  – Nice design: modern, the space is used at maximum so you can enjoy a bedroom, a kitchen and a dining space in a single room.

  What could be improved: – it was very humid; also some mold was growing on the window wall
  – when we arrived there were no toiletries nor toilet paper (the host offered to bring them the next day but we have already bought what was missing)

  Very nice. Good location. New bathroom. Good airconditioning. Comfortabel bed.
  
  What could be improved: We were there three days and the final day, many ants appeared which caused a bit of a problem. If we stayed another day the ants would have been everywhere all over our suitcases and clothing.

• Cute Design-Room close to Ponte Pietra – Irena from Germany – 16 October 2022 (8/10)

  The design was nice, there was a beautiful picture of Verona in the room and it was clean. The shower was big. Also nice was, that you had an option to make urself tea.
  
  What could be improved: The window and balkony door were directly next to the street-so you could hear, if a car or motorcycle drive by (Design Room 2). Thankfully it is a really calm street. There was no plug for the hairdryer, that you could use it next to the mirror, so would be nice to provide either the plug or an hairdryer that fits. I would have been extra happy if there would have been a full-size mirror and an iron included.

  What could be improved: The apartment in general was clean but the only blanket that was left was incredibly dirty.

  What could be improved: First of all there where no replay to my messages and thats really not nice!!!
  The kitched had microwave and kettle, 2 cups and spoons, 1 small plate and mini fridge. There were no glasses, plates, knives and cutlery to fully use the kitchen!!!
  And no Wifi, mobile internet was really bad in that place!!!
