It’s one of those places where the name actually tells you everything you need to know – this isn’t some sprawling resort complex, it’s intimate and personal, exactly 44 rooms, and honestly that’s part of its charm. When I walked through the entrance, I immediately got that boutique hotel feeling where the staff actually remembers your name by day two, which is pretty rare these days.

The whole place has this refined yet approachable vibe that’s hard to nail down – I mean, it’s officially a 3-star property, but the attention to detail feels way more upscale than that rating suggests. Actually, with a 9.6 guest rating, I’m pretty sure most people feel the same way I did about the gap between expectations and reality here. The rooms themselves are thoughtfully designed (not just decorated, if you know what I mean), and while they’re not huge, every square foot feels intentional. The beds are honestly fantastic – I’m talking about that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re sleeping on a marshmallow. Small thing, but the lighting is actually usable too, which any business traveler will appreciate when you’re trying to read or work in the evening.

What really sets this place apart though is the service – it hits that sweet spot between attentive and not hovering. The front desk staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure guests had what they needed, and I noticed they were quick with local recommendations that went beyond the usual tourist traps. The common areas have this relaxed energy where you might actually want to hang out with a coffee or glass of wine, rather than just rushing through to get to your room. Parking was straightforward when I visited (always a concern in smaller properties), and check-in was smooth – none of that “your room isn’t ready yet” drama even though I arrived mid-afternoon. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I wanted somewhere that feels more like a well-run guesthouse than a corporate hotel chain, but with all the amenities you’d expect from a proper hotel experience.

  Junior & Miguel were so helpful and friendly! Perfect hosts! Would recommend staying here! 15 minute walk into the main area of Verona. Room was clean and tidy! Beds were comfy!

  The hosts were very friendly and helpful with every query, and gave us good advice on things to do in Verona.
  The room though a bit small, was very comfortable and good enough to fit our family of three (a 6 month old).
  
  The location is very good as it's in between the main station and the city, both around 10-15 minute walking distance.

  I really enjoyed my stay & the welcome I received was so nice. It’s so clear that the proprietors truly care about their place & it can really be felt. I booked very late and only for one night, but Mikele (sorry if not spelt right!) was so accommodating, and one of the friendliest hosts I have ever met. Big thank you & next time I’m in Verona, this will be my only choice. Grazie mille!

  The family handling the accommodation is so nice and hospitable. This is my first time to travel (as a solo) and I felt safe after the orientation. Overall, the room is big enough and most importantly quiet and comfortable. I hope more and more will book on Domus44 since it is a hidden gem in Verona

  Check-in was smooth and hassle-free and we were even offered water upon arrival, which was a nice touch. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom was spacious. I also really liked the common area—it had a cozy feel and the small kitchen was a great extra detail.
  
  What could be improved: It was a bit tricky to find since there wasn’t any clear signage. Once inside, the room felt a little colder than we would have liked.

  Amazing stay in Verona!
  We had a wonderful stay at this own family hotel in Verona, Italy. The location is very convenient-just a 7-min walk from the train station and about 20min walking from the main tourist attractions in the city center. The staff (Father and Son) were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with any questions we had. Easy communication! Speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
  One of the great perks was the parking: for only 6 euros per day, you can park right behind the hotel with direct access to the building hotel. The hotel itself was charming, clean, and the room was spacious and comfortable. If we ever return to Verona, we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

  Super helpful and friendly staff, perfectly clean room and new facilities (spotless, new bathroom). Quiet room with air-conditioning. The most comfortable bed I have found in a hotel in many years.
