Domus Anastasia Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Domus Anastasia on Corso Sant’Anastasia, you immediately understand why this four-star property gets such rave reviews. The building itself has that understated elegance that Verona does so well — historic charm without feeling stuffy or overly touristy. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of the historical center, and the location honestly couldn’t be better if you tried.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about staying right here — you can walk to Juliet’s House in about three minutes, but you’re not stuck in the middle of all that tourist chaos. The street has this perfect balance where you feel like you’re experiencing authentic Verona life, yet everything you want to see is within easy walking distance. Couples absolutely adore this spot (and I can see why), because there’s something romantic about stepping out your door and being surrounded by medieval architecture and cobblestone streets. You know what’s really nice? The evening strolls when the day-trippers have gone home and the locals come out.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this wonderful mix of modern comfort and historical character — think exposed beams but with excellent air conditioning, which you’ll definitely appreciate during Verona’s warm summers. The windows open onto the corso below, and while there’s some street noise (it’s the city center, after all), it’s more charming than disruptive. Actually, I found myself enjoying the sounds of people walking by and the occasional Vespa puttering past. The bathrooms are well-appointed, and honestly, everything just works the way it should.

Exploring from Here

What really struck me was how effortlessly you can explore from this base. The Arena di Verona is maybe a seven-minute walk, and you can wander through Piazza delle Erbe without even thinking about it. But here’s a local tip — some of the best little wine bars and trattorias are tucked into the side streets right around the hotel. I discovered this tiny place called Osteria del Duca just by following my nose one evening, and it became my go-to spot for aperitivo. You’re also perfectly positioned for day trips if you want to explore Lake Garda or the Valpolicella wine region.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.3 rating really tells the story here — this isn’t just about having a nice place to sleep. It’s about being part of Verona’s rhythm while still having all the comforts you need. The staff genuinely knows the area and can point you toward experiences that feel authentic rather than just checking boxes off a tourist list. Whether you’re here for romance, history, or just to soak up that particular Italian magic that Verona does so well, Domus Anastasia puts you right where you want to be. It’s one of those places where the location is so good, you almost feel guilty about how easy everything becomes.

  • Vildan from Netherlands – 3 November 2024 (9/10)

The location was perfect and bathroom was big and we stayed in comfort. We needed help to book taxi and our host was super helpful and booked it for us.

What could be improved: We had some noise coming next door but it did not bother us.

  • Rebeca from Brazil – 21 August 2024 (10/10)

  • Iuliia from Ukraine – 14 August 2024 (8/10)

Overall good experience, with good communication, clean apartment & just perfect location.
Apartment had everything for short stay & cooking.
Better for 2-3 persons, but 4 of us were ok.

What could be improved: It was so hot in the apartment, unfortunately, A/C in the living room was not working properly, and the fan in the bedroom helped a little. You should take into account this August was extremely hot with 35 C during daytime, and the owner was trying to fix it.

Roberta is very kind and welcoming.
The flat was clean and quiet. The location is perfect!

  • Patrizia from Italy – 18 May 2024 (9/10)

I love the location and the spaciousness of the apartment. It has everything you need. I like the view from the apartment and the host was very welcoming.

What could be improved: The bathroom smells from the plumbing, and the lift is very slow. But apart from this, the apartment has everything you need!

  • Silvia from Germany – 22 April 2024 (10/10)

My stay at this accommodation was excellent! The location was ideal, with plenty of restaurants nearby and parking options nearby. The owner of the accommodation was extremely friendly and helpful. She responded promptly to any inquiries and made sure I had everything I needed. The cleanliness was outstanding, and the amenities provided left nothing to be desired.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain about
