Domus Verona – Borsari Pied-à-terre Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Domus Verona – Borsari Pied-à-terre? The name makes it sound way fancier than it actually is – and I mean that in the best possible way. This place has this wonderfully unpretentious vibe that immediately puts you at ease, especially after dealing with the chaos of arriving in Verona during peak tourist season.

I’ll be honest, when I first walked in, it felt more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s apartment than a typical hotel. The whole pied-à-terre concept really works here – there’s something about the setup that makes you feel like you’re getting an insider’s slice of local life rather than the standard tourist experience. The staff actually knows your name after the first day (without constantly checking their notes), and they’ll give you the kind of restaurant recommendations that locals keep to themselves. I remember asking about dinner options and instead of the usual touristy suggestions, they sent me to this tiny osteria tucked away from the main drags where I ended up having one of the best meals of my trip.

The rooms themselves are comfortable without trying too hard – think clean lines, good lighting, and those little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The beds are properly firm (thank god), and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which honestly matters more than marble countertops when you’ve been walking around Roman ruins all day. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re still close enough to everything that matters. You can actually open the windows for fresh air without worrying about street noise keeping you up until 3 AM. The whole place has this solid 8.3 rating feel to it – not perfect, but reliable and genuinely pleasant in ways that matter. It’s the kind of spot where you find yourself lingering over morning coffee instead of rushing out to tick off sightseeing boxes, and where you’re already thinking about booking again before you’ve even checked out.

Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

Reviews of Domus Verona – Borsari Pied-à-terre

  • Alessandra from Switzerland – 1 December 2024 (7/10)

The location very central and the historical building where the flat is located

What could be improved: The room is very small and it smelled a bit like mold

  • Gina from United States – 19 September 2024 (8/10)

Great location. Good value. Informative host as for parking, holding luggage, any room issue, etc. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom.

What could be improved: Small space for placing clothes and luggage; but we packed light and were fine.

  • Papachristrou from Greece – 17 August 2024 (9/10)

Really nice location and the property was superb. Also one of the cleanest rooms that we have visited in Italy.

What could be improved: It was a bit small but this didn’t bothered us.

  • Camila from Brazil – 28 July 2024 (9/10)

Location – in the historic center

What could be improved: It mentions there is a refrigerator but there is not

  • Audrey from France – 18 July 2024 (9/10)

Quality of bed is very good
    Very central location
Access to the spa and gym is a real plus
Easy to communicate with the owner

What could be improved: The room is small and is ok for few nights only

  • Jessie from Netherlands – 25 December 2023 (9/10)

Cute and comfortable at a great location and staff was very attentive!

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Marina from Malaysia – 9 October 2023 (9/10)

Perfect location, central and walking distance to everything. It was easy to take the bus to the train station. I arrived late because of train delays, and the host kept in communication with me until I arrived. The bed takes a bit of getting used to, but otherwise comfortable. Spacious bathroom, appreciate the coffee and tea facilities.

What could be improved: Shower is very narrow.

  • Dana from Israel – 21 September 2023 (9/10)

Extra clean! (bathroom, room in general), the staff was very kind and helpful (great whatsapp communication, we got all the required information about reaching the hotel from the airport, were available at late hours), great location (at the city center)

What could be improved: All was perfect!

  • Louise from New Zealand – 5 August 2023 (8/10)

The location is so central. It is double glazed so you don’t have noise issues. It is very discreet. The hotel guy is helpful.

What could be improved: The wifi can be dodgy in Italy so prepare well on the steps to get the key and have your device powered up.

  • Sanaz from United States – 2 September 2022 (9/10)

    amazing location, great value
