Eli Home – Royal Welcome Overview
I remember pulling up to Eli Home – Royal Welcome on a drizzly afternoon last spring – you know, that time of year when Verona’s streets get all misty and romantic, but you’re just praying your rental car doesn’t scrape against those narrow Italian curbs. It’s tucked away on Via Giovanni Caboto in the Borgo Milano neighborhood, right near the Stadio Bentegodi, which is handy if you’re into football (soccer, I mean – the Hellas Verona matches can get rowdy, so check the schedule if you hate crowd noise spilling over at night). Honestly, it’s not smack in the historic center like those pricier spots by the Arena, but that’s part of the charm – you’re in a real residential area where locals zip around on Vespas and grab espresso at corner bars. I parked on the street (free after 8 PM, but spots fill up fast during events), and the check-in was a breeze; the staff – this friendly guy named Marco – handed over my key with a quick chat about the best nearby gelato spot on Via Albere, just a five-minute walk away. The lobby smells like fresh linen and a hint of rosemary from their little herb garden out back – small touches that make you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s upscale apartment rather than some chain hotel.
What really won me over were the rooms – mine was on the second floor, overlooking a quiet courtyard with those classic Verona balconies draped in ivy. It’s a solid 4-star setup, with plush beds that actually let you sink in after a day wandering the city (and trust me, you’ll need it after trekking from here to Piazza delle Erbe, about a 20-minute bus ride on the number 11 line from the stop right outside). The bathroom had this rain shower that felt luxurious, though the water pressure dipped a bit in the mornings when everyone’s rushing – nothing major, just a heads-up if you’re an early riser. Breakfast was a highlight: fresh croissants, local cheeses, and cappuccinos made to order, served in a sunny room that opens to the garden. I mean, it’s not Michelin-star fancy, but way better than the bland buffets you get elsewhere. Oh, and they have bikes for rent – super practical for zipping along the Adige River path, which is peaceful in the evenings when the tourists thin out. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi can be spotty in the far rooms during peak season (summer crowds, you know), but it sorted itself out after a quick reset.
All in all, if you’re looking for that authentic Verona vibe without the tourist trap prices, Eli Home is a gem – rated 8.6 for good reason, I’d say. It’s perfect for couples or solo travelers who want to mix sightseeing with some local immersion; hop on a bike to the center or stroll to nearby spots like the San Zeno Basilica, which is underrated and only about 15 minutes away on foot. Well, sort of – wear comfy shoes, as the sidewalks can be uneven. I left feeling like I’d discovered a little secret in the city of Romeo and Juliet, and honestly, I’d book it again in a heartbeat for that royal welcome without the fuss.

What could be improved: Ninguna que valga la pena ser escrita.Gabriel from Spain – 17 December 2024 (9/10)
Eliana from Italy – 22 October 2024 (9/10)
struttura comoda da raggiungere, ben arredata e pulita

What could be improved: Trudno o miejsce parkingoweIhor from Ukraine – 14 July 2024 (8/10)
The apartment is cozy and cute, as in the photo.
What could be improved: The romantic atmosphere of the city cancels out many of the shortcomings of Italian service. But the denial of parking, which was included in the description of the apartment, added quite a bit of stress. Especially given the lack of paid guarded parking lots around. Also, be prepared to buy small items such as toilet paper, kitchen towels, and other things that are usually provided by the hosts.Marijana from Croatia – 1 September 2022 (9/10)
Great place 💙

Wonderful apartment, has absolutely everything you need to use in the kitchen and everywhere. It's like home. It's comfortably done. Exceptional cleanliness. It looks like the pictures.
It is calm both during the day and at night.
