Hotel Description

I remember stumbling upon Enjoy Verona last summer during one of those sweltering July weeks when the opera festival turns the whole city into a buzzing hive – you know, with crowds spilling out from the Arena every night, all dressed up and chattering in a mix of Italian and tourist accents. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because the address is tucked away on Vicolo Satiro, this narrow little alley off Via Cappello (yeah, that’s the one with Juliet’s balcony just a stone’s throw away), and navigating those cobblestone streets with luggage in tow felt like a mini adventure. But once I pushed open the door – well, it was like stepping into a cozy slice of old Verona. The lobby’s got these exposed brick walls that smell faintly of aged stone and fresh linen, and the check-in was a breeze; the staff, mostly locals who know the ins and outs of the historical center, handed me a map with handwritten notes on the best gelato spots nearby, like the one on Piazza delle Erbe where they do that killer pistachio flavor. No fuss, no long lines – even though it was peak season, it felt personal, like they actually cared if you found your way around.

What really won me over, though, was how the place balances that historic charm with just enough modern comfort to make you forget you’re in a building that’s probably seen centuries. My room on the second floor overlooked the vicolo – sort of a mixed blessing, I mean, the views of those terracotta rooftops and distant church spires are postcard-perfect at sunset, but come morning, you might hear the clatter of delivery scooters or the occasional street vendor setting up. Still, the bed was plush, with those crisp white sheets that feel like a hug after a day of wandering, and the bathroom had one of those rain showers that actually works without flooding the floor (a rarity in some Italian spots, trust me). Breakfast downstairs is a highlight – think fresh croissants baked on-site, cappuccinos that rival the cafes on Via Mazzini, and a spread of local cheeses and prosciutto that had me lingering way too long. Oh, and if you’re into that, they’ve got a small rooftop terrace where you can sip an Aperol spritz while watching the Adige River glow in the evening light – it’s not huge, but it’s quiet, especially after the daytime tourists clear out. Parking’s a hassle in the center, though; no on-site spots, so I ended up using the public garage near Porta Borsari, about a 10-minute walk, which wasn’t ideal with bags but doable.

All in all, if you’re the type who wants to dive headfirst into Verona’s romantic soul without sacrificing a good night’s sleep, Enjoy Verona’s your spot – it’s got that authentic feel that makes you feel like a local, not just another visitor. Sure, rooms can run a tad small if you’re packing heavy, and summer noise from the festivals might keep light sleepers up, but with a 9.4 rating, it’s no surprise folks rave about it. I’d go back in a heartbeat, maybe in the quieter shoulder season like early fall when the leaves turn and the crowds thin out – that’s when the magic really shines through.

We wish we could have stayed longer here! The apartment was beautiful, spacious, clean and very comfortable. A great escape from the very busy city, all within walking distance and it’s close to the bus stops to get to the station. The balcony was small but ideal for a quiet drink outside. There was a supermarket nearby and we had a lovely meal in the apartment as great kitchen facilities. Highly recommend for a quiet nights sleep!

A nice apartment in a good location in the city, not super central, but a walk away from everything.
Owners are very responsive and helpful.

  • Perfect – Luke from United Kingdom – 10 July 2024 (10/10)

I don’t know where to begin in terms of how excellent this property was. Checking in was great given our flight time. The rooms were absolutely spotless, and the owners had thought of everything. There’s aircon in both the bedroom and the main area, the fridge was loaded with juice, milk and water. There are coffee making facilities and the basket of breakfast snacks was perfect.

The WiFi was so quick, it was perfect and the book with local restaurants, bars and helpful phone numbers was a nice touch.

The location of the room was great, only about a 10 minute walk from the arena but still in a pleasantly quiet area.

Teo and Stefania was a pleasure to deal with. We will return one day, and we cannot wait to do so!
