Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to Flats4Rent Irene last spring, right after that bumpy drive from the airport – you know, the one where you dodge all those Vespas zipping around Verona’s outskirts. It’s tucked away on Via Adigetto Primo, this quiet little street in the historical center that feels like a secret shortcut to everything. Honestly, I was relieved to find it so easily; parking in Verona can be a nightmare, especially with all the ZTL zones (those restricted traffic areas that catch tourists off guard and slap you with fines). But there’s a public lot just a couple blocks over on Via Pallone, and from there, it’s a short walk past those old stone walls that smell faintly of damp river air from the Adige nearby. My first thought stepping inside? It was like walking into someone’s cozy apartment rather than a stuffy hotel – the check-in was super laid-back, just a quick chat with the owner who handed over the keys and pointed out the best spot for morning coffee at that tiny café on Corso Porta Borsari, about five minutes away.
What really won me over were the flats themselves – they’re more like mini homes than standard rooms, which is perfect if you’re staying a few days and want to skip the restaurant rush. I had this one-bedroom spot on the second floor (no elevator, mind you, so pack light if stairs aren’t your thing), with these big windows overlooking a courtyard that muffled the tourist chatter from Piazza Bra. The kitchenette was a lifesaver – stocked with basics like olive oil and pasta, so I whipped up a simple carbonara one night after wandering back from Juliet’s House, which is literally a 10-minute stroll down Via Cappello. The beds? Super comfy, with those crisp cotton sheets that feel cool against your skin after a hot day exploring the Arena (pro tip: book opera tickets in summer, but avoid July weekends when the crowds turn the whole center into a madhouse). It’s not flawless, though – the Wi-Fi dipped a bit in the evenings, probably from all the old buildings around, and the bathroom was on the compact side, but hey, it’s Verona, where space is at a premium. Still, waking up to the distant chime of church bells from San Zeno and that fresh bread aroma wafting in from the bakery on Via Roma made it all worthwhile.
Look, if you’re heading to Verona for the romance or the history – or just to escape into those winding cobblestone streets – Flats4Rent Irene is a solid pick. It’s got that authentic vibe without the tourist trap prices, rated an 8.7 for good reason, and being smack in the historical center means you’re steps from gems like the Ponte Pietra bridge for sunset views over the river. I mean, I left feeling like I’d actually lived there a bit, not just passed through. Go in shoulder season, like April or October, when it’s quieter and you can snag a flat without the summer surge – trust me, you’ll thank yourself for that extra breathing room.

Very clean and comfortable. Good amenities. Good space and value for money.
What could be improved: The restriction of no later than 1900 for check in. Made it very difficult for flight times and this might stop me from renting the flat again if I can't get to Verona in time for check in.Linda from Australia – 29 September 2023 (9/10)
Clean, spacious, well located, air-con
What could be improved: Lift not functional- located Level 1 & needed to get suitcases upstairs
Bit inconvenient to pick up key from alternate location
Few coffee podsDavid from United Kingdom – 27 July 2023 (9/10)
Clean, specious, good room sizes, excellent location, quite area, modern, good tips in welcome folder, authentic, private.
What could be improved: A small balcony and extra toilet but this is unfair as we knew the apartment didn’t have these when we booked and the facilities we got were excellent for the price.Fidgeon from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (9/10)
The toilet was stained when we got there and there was no microwave. Other than that, perfect stay !
Lizbeth from United States – 30 October 2024 (9/10)

Ian from Australia – 18 September 2024 (8/10)
The property was clean and spacious, had all the facilities and amenities that we needed. Was also well located, less than 10 mins walk to old town.
What could be improved: Some of the fixtures in the shower were rusted.Jaan from Estonia – 11 September 2023 (8/10)
Location
What could be improved: A demand to put garbage into a container on street!Johanna from Australia – 1 August 2023 (8/10)
Great location, close walking distance to main attractions. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Really appreciated the washing machine after weeks of travel! Fast internet and aircon in each rooms.
What could be improved: Having to pick up the keys from a different location. Stairs could be slippery.Clarysse from United States – 13 May 2023 (7/10)
1. The location is great as we wanted a place a bit outside of the business of the city center. It also has a great bar, a great gelateria and great restaurants nearby.
2. The place is well equipped with pots, pans, and dinnerware.
3. The place looks just like the pictures and is quite spacious.
What could be improved: 1. The key pick-up. It should be at the apartment. Even if the location was given to us (and not hard to find with google maps), the place to pick up the key is far from the apartment. When you have a lot of suitcases plus a stroller / toddler, this really added stress to the process.
2. The towel heater in the apartment is not in a good state. It is rusty and not clean.
3. This is more a "nice to have" and I understand that not all apartments have it, but it would have been nice to have the option to have at least a baby crib (a pack and play is literally 50 euros and all other places of our month-long trip had at least a crib and most also offered a baby bathtub and a high chair..).Paolo from Italy – 31 December 2024 (9/10)
