Honestly, finding the place was easier than I expected; no big flashy sign, just a discreet entrance that blends into the old stone buildings. Check-in was a breeze – the host met me at the door with a genuine smile and a quick rundown in broken English (mixed with Italian gestures, of course), handing over keys to what felt more like a cozy apartment than a standard hotel room. It’s rated 4 stars, and yeah, it lives up to that with clean, modern vibes inside these ancient walls – think exposed brick here and there, a little kitchenette stocked with basics like coffee pods and fresh towels that actually smell like they’ve been line-dried in the sun.

What really sold me on Flats4rent Luca was how it puts you smack in the middle of Verona’s magic without feeling touristy. My room overlooked a quiet courtyard – okay, not entirely quiet during the day with the distant hum of scooters on nearby Via Mazzini or the occasional church bell from Santa Anastasia, but it added to the atmosphere, you know? Mornings, I’d brew espresso in the kitchen and step out to Piazza delle Erbe, literally two minutes away, where the market stalls burst with that fresh produce smell – ripe tomatoes, herbs, the works. It’s perfect for wandering to the Arena di Verona for an opera night (book tickets early in July; it gets packed), or just strolling to Castelvecchio bridge at sunset when the Adige River turns golden. Practical stuff: parking’s a nightmare in the center, so if you’re driving, stash the car at one of those lots near Porta Nuova and walk or bus it in – saved me a headache. The place is self-catering, which I loved for grabbing prosciutto from local shops, but fair warning, the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming. Still, for a 8.9 rating, it’s spot-on; not luxurious, but authentically Veronese, with those high ceilings and creaky wooden floors that make you feel like you’re living history.

Look, if you’re heading to Verona for romance or just to soak up the Renaissance vibes – maybe catching a show at the Arena or people-watching in the piazzas – this spot’s a gem. It’s not the cheapest, but you get that insider feel without the chain-hotel sterility. I mean, I left wishing I’d stayed longer; next time, I’d time it for spring to avoid the summer crowds. Trust me, you’ll wake up to birdsong and the faint aroma of baking bread from the bakery down the street, and that’s the kind of detail that turns a trip into a memory.

  The host was very responsive with any problems we had. The washing machine was broken, so they had someone check it the next day and as they had to oder a new one and it hadn't arrived by the time we left we were given a part refund. Now that is great service.

  Great space, clean, and comfortable. Location was easy to walk to everything. Nice little patio and a few amenities like Nespresso machine and toaster were handy.

  Breakfast was not included but that was ok. The full kitchen made preparing food very easy and there are numerous places to get breakfast, lunch or dinner that are very close by. The location was convenient and I always felt safe. Loved the 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. The apartment was very roomy and great value for the money. The host also made themselves available in helping me deal with lost luggage. They went above and beyond.
