Hotel Description

You know, when I first rolled up to Flats4rent Palazzo Poste in Verona’s historical center, I was a bit skeptical—Piazza Francesco Viviani is this tiny, tucked-away square off Via Emilei, and with all the cobblestone chaos of the old town, I figured parking would be a nightmare. But honestly, it turned out to be a breeze; they hooked me up with a spot in a nearby garage (just a short walk down Via Cappello, where Juliet’s balcony draws those endless crowds), and check-in was this low-key affair with a friendly host who handed over keys like we were old pals. The building itself is this gorgeous old palazzo—think weathered stone facades and wrought-iron balconies that scream Renaissance Verona—but inside, it’s all sleek apartments with modern kitchens and those super-comfy beds that make you forget you’re not at home. I stayed in one on the second floor (no elevator, fair warning if you’re hauling luggage, but the stairs are wide and not too steep), and waking up to the faint chime of bells from the nearby Duomo was pure magic. The place smells faintly of espresso from the little cafe downstairs, and in the evenings, when the piazza quiets down, you can hear the Adige River murmuring just a block away—it’s that perfect mix of central but not overwhelming.

What really sets this spot apart, though, is how it feels like you’re living like a local rather than just visiting. I mean, you’re literally steps from Corso Porta Borsari, where you can grab fresh mozzarella from that family-run salumeria or wander over to the Arena for an opera if it’s summer season (pro tip: book tickets early, it gets packed, and the energy is electric but exhausting by midnight). The apartments are spotless—mine had this massive window overlooking the square, letting in that golden Italian sunlight—and they’ve got all the practical bits covered, like fast Wi-Fi that actually works for streaming and a washer-dryer that saved me after a rainy day exploring Ponte Pietra. Noise-wise, it’s surprisingly peaceful; sure, there’s the occasional scooter buzzing by during the day, but come nightfall, it’s dead quiet compared to the touristy spots near Piazza delle Erbe. Well, almost—there was this one pigeon that cooed incessantly at dawn, but that’s Verona for you, right? And at 4 stars with a 9.7 rating, it’s not overpriced hype; it’s earned it through those thoughtful touches, like stocked toiletries that smell like lavender fields and a welcome basket with local prosecco (a nice surprise after trekking from the train station).

All in all, if you’re heading to Verona—especially during the off-season in fall when the leaves turn and the crowds thin out—I’d say book this place without hesitation. It’s ideal for couples wanting that romantic vibe (sunsets from the balcony are unbeatable) or even small families who need space to spread out. You get the history seeping through the walls without sacrificing comfort, and it’s close enough to everything—Via Mazzini for shopping, the river for evening strolls—that you won’t waste time on buses or taxis. Just remember to wear comfy shoes for all that walking; my feet were killing me by day three, but hey, that’s the price of falling in love with this city.

Bel appartement situé dans l'ancien palais des postes magnifiquement rénové. Très bien situé proche du centre mais cependant très calme, parfait pour visiter la ville. Un point à savoir est que la deuxième chambre est située dans une mezzanine au-dessus du salon.
