Gate To Verona Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Gate To Verona, I thought it might be one of those touristy places that sounds better than it actually is. But this 4-star spot genuinely surprised me in the best way possible. You know what struck me first? The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance that doesn’t feel stuffy or over-designed. It’s like someone’s sophisticated Italian aunt decorated it – comfortable leather chairs that actually invite you to sit, and the lighting is soft enough that you don’t feel like you’re under interrogation when you check in.
What really sets this place apart is how the staff seems to actually care about making your stay work. I mean, they’re not just going through the motions – they remember your name, ask how your day went, and honestly seem invested in whether you’re enjoying Verona. The concierge (I think his name was Marco) gave me restaurant recommendations that were clearly his personal favorites, not just the usual tourist traps. One place he suggested was this tiny osteria tucked away on a side street that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being the best meal of my trip. The rooms themselves are thoughtfully designed – you can tell someone actually stayed in them before deciding where to put the outlets and reading lights. The beds are properly firm (thank god), and the bathroom has one of those rain showers that actually has decent water pressure, which is honestly rarer than it should be.
Here’s the thing about Gate To Verona that really won me over – it feels like it belongs in its neighborhood rather than just existing as a tourist bubble. In the mornings, I’d see locals grabbing coffee at the little bar area, chatting with the hotel staff like old friends. The sound of the espresso machine became part of my morning routine, along with the gentle buzz of Italian conversations floating around. Even the location works in its favor – you’re close enough to the main attractions that you don’t need to plan your life around transportation, but far enough from the chaos that you can actually get some sleep. I stayed there during peak season in July, and while the popular areas were absolutely packed with tour groups, this place maintained a sense of calm that I really appreciated. The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything it does, it does really well. You’ll leave feeling like you discovered something special rather than just checking another hotel off your list.

Reviews of Gate To Verona
Victoria from United Kingdom – 20 February 2025 (10/10)
The apartment was so absolutely stunning. Very clean and comfortable, opens using a code so not worried about losing keys, all basic utilities were provided, tea and coffee, sugar, coffee machine, saucepans and stove if you want to cook, which we did, a few essentials like oil, salt and black pepper, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, dishwasher and even a washing machine which was great. The sofa also converts into a bed which was comfortable and there was an extra fold up bed if you had more guest. Towels and shower/shampoo were supplied.
Bedroom was lovely and spacious; plenty wardrobe space, light switches by either side of the bed and loads of sockets around the apartment. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom was lovely with working g shower.
Dima the host was excellent, he sent a WhatsApp
message shortly after booking to introducing himself and all necessary information needed to ensure our stay was comfortable. ID were sent so we’re were registered, visitor tax can be paid cash or card.
My booking was for 4 days and because I wanted to remain in the apartment a bit longer as my flight was at 9:40pm and didn’t want to check out at 11:00am we paid for additional night, so my fiancé could stay over. We really enjoyed our stay and would 100% recommend this place for a couple or family.
What could be improved: Nothing negative to say about the apartment except the shower was a little on the small side.Renato from Portugal – 13 February 2025 (10/10)
It’s a nice place. Everything is new. Good location to the city. The host did everything he could to make us comfortable.
What could be improved: We had minor heating problems, but it seems it’s normal with the area. There are limitations by law on electricity.Donat from Serbia – 7 December 2024 (10/10)
As we were just passing it was a perfect location near the motorway with the parking on site. The apartment is big and comfortable with all the amenities, neat and clean. Since we just stayed overnight we didn't have time to enjoy longer
