Giardino di Romeo, 100m dal Teatro Romano Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Giardino di Romeo, 100m dal Teatro Romano? The name basically tells you everything you need to know, but somehow still doesn’t prepare you for how perfectly positioned this place actually is. I mean, when they say 100 meters from the Roman Theater, they’re not kidding around – you can literally walk there in about a minute and a half, maybe two if you stop to admire the medieval stonework along the way.
The thing about staying this close to Verona’s main archaeological site is that you get to experience the city in layers, you know? During the day, you’ll hear the gentle hum of tourists discovering the theater for the first time, but honestly, the magic happens in the early evening when the crowds thin out and you can wander over there with a gelato and just soak it all in. The garden aspect of the hotel – and trust me, it’s not just a clever name – creates this lovely buffer between you and the bustle. I actually spent quite a bit of time in their outdoor spaces, which feel surprisingly secluded considering you’re basically in the heart of the historic center. The morning light filtering through the trees while you’re having breakfast? Chef’s kiss.
What really impressed me, though, was how the staff seemed to genuinely understand that location like this comes with responsibility. They’re not just running a hotel near some old ruins – they get that they’re part of Verona’s living history. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you experience their attention to detail, from the way they handle recommendations (they actually know which restaurants locals frequent versus the tourist traps) to their timing suggestions for visiting nearby attractions. I mean, they told me exactly when to visit Juliet’s House to avoid the worst crowds, and they were spot on. The building itself has this wonderful sense of being restored rather than renovated, if that makes sense – like they preserved the character while making everything comfortable for modern travelers. The rooms manage to feel both historic and fresh, and honestly, falling asleep to the sounds of the old city settling in for the night, knowing you’re a stone’s throw from where Romans once gathered for entertainment… it’s pretty special. Plus, and this might sound silly, but there’s something romantic about the whole setup that goes beyond the obvious Romeo and Juliet connections – it’s more about being part of a story that’s been unfolding for centuries.
Verona hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in this UNESCO World Heritage city, known for its romantic atmosphere, Roman architecture, and world-class opera performances.

What could be improved: –Beautiful apartment well located in Verona. – Joe from United Kingdom – 10 July 2025 (10/10)
The property was very well located and easy to find. It was very clean and spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning. If we were returning to Verona again we would try and return here as it was a very nice apartment.
What could be improved: We would have preferred a conventional oven rather than a microwave but it wasn’t a major issue.Exceptional – Zdeněk from Czech Republic – 30 June 2025 (10/10)
Všechno fantastické! Místo, atmosféra, vybavení, pohoda. Můžeme všem doporučit!
Everything is fantastic! Location, atmosphere, facilities, comfort. We can recommend it to everyone!
Tutto fantastico! Posizione, atmosfera, servizi, comfort. Lo consigliamo a tutti!Super Apartment mit hervorragendem Service vom Gastgeber – Hendrik from Germany – 10 June 2025 (9/10)
We had a great stay at this place with a perfect location for staying in Verona. – Sophia from Switzerland – 8 May 2025 (9/10)
The location, the size and the garden were the highlight about this place. It has everything you need and the surroundings are pretty quiet. Furthermore the communication with Giovanni was easy and he was available during our whole stay.
Magic – Christopher from Canada – 24 February 2025 (10/10)
First and foremost the host Giovanni was always available and very responsive. The location was excellent. Directly across the street from the main bridge. The property was freshly restored but still has its historic vibe bring the best of two world together. The courtyard was a bonus to relax and have private outdoor space when taking a break from the busy city. It so close but just outside so not too loud. I will plan my next Verona visit around this property’s availability.
Thanks again GiovanniExceptional – Kasia from Ireland – 8 February 2025 (10/10)
Absolutely amazing apartment so clean and big.very good location.. really good communication with the owner
We loved our stay here and thought it was perfect! – Claire from United Kingdom – 11 October 2024 (10/10)
The apartment was just like the pictures and description, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, clean and with a lovely garden which added to the peaceful experience. It was in an ideal location for exploring Verona, just a few steps away from the views, history and romance of Ponte Pietra and the walk up to Castel San Pietro and more views. Our host Giovanni was extremely kind and welcoming, and made our stay even more relaxing by being so helpful, such as with arrangements and directions for our travel to and from the airport.

I liked nothing about this property it smelt of damp in the bedroom it’s really bad to inhale damp. Also mice running around
What could be improved: it smelt of damp in the bedroom it’s really bad to inhale damp. Also mice running around so we had to move the bed upstairs due to this damp
Smell downstairs. I messaged the owner and expressed my concern with the damp smell and the mice. There response was to accuse me of burning a cigarette burn somewhere. But me and the 3 people that stayed don’t smoke cigarettes. Then the owner of the property accused me of having more then 3 people stay which was true and is asking me to pay them 150 euros. Trying to take money from me from taking liesGreat place for a trip to Verona highly recommend – Woods from United Kingdom – 27 August 2024 (10/10)
