Giardino Giusti House & Court Overview

You know, I stumbled upon Giardino Giusti House & Court almost by accident last spring when I was wandering Verona’s quieter side – that Veronetta neighborhood across the Adige River, away from the tourist crush around the Arena. It’s tucked away at the corner of Via Muro Padri and Via Francesco Rismondo, right next to the entrance of those stunning Giardino Giusti gardens (honestly, if you’re into manicured hedges and statues that look like they’ve been posing since the Renaissance, you’ll lose hours there). I remember pulling up in my rental car – parking’s a bit of a squeeze on those narrow streets, but there’s a small lot nearby on Via San Nazaro if you get lucky, or just bite the bullet and use the public garage over by Ponte Pietra. Check-in was a breeze; the staff – this friendly older guy named Marco, I think – handed over the keys with a quick chat about the best time to hit the gardens (early morning, before the groups arrive, he said, and he was spot on). The building itself has this old-world charm, like a converted palazzo with stone walls that feel cool to the touch even in May’s warmth, and there’s a faint scent of blooming jasmine from the courtyard that hits you as soon as you step inside.

What really sold me on the place was how it balances that historic vibe with stuff that actually makes your stay comfortable – I mean, it’s a solid 4-star spot with an 8.5 rating for a reason, but it’s not pretentious about it. My room overlooked the courtyard (ask for one if you can; the street-side ones pick up a bit of scooter buzz in the evenings, though it’s nothing earplugs can’t handle). The bed was plush, with those crisp white linens that smell freshly laundered, and the bathroom had a rain shower that was a godsend after trekking up to the Castel San Pietro viewpoint – that’s just a 10-minute uphill stroll from here, by the way, and the views over the river at sunset are worth the huffing and puffing. Breakfast is served in this sunny little room off the lobby, nothing fancy but solid: fresh cornetti, cappuccinos made right (none of that weak tourist stuff), and local cheeses that pair perfectly with the prosciutto. Oh, and there’s a small spa area downstairs – I treated myself to a massage after a day exploring, and it was surprisingly affordable, though book ahead in peak season like July when Verona’s opera festival packs the town.

All in all, if you’re visiting Verona and want something that feels authentically local without skimping on comforts, this is it. It’s not smack in the middle of the Juliet’s House chaos (thank goodness – that area’s a madhouse in summer), but you’re still an easy 15-minute walk to the historic center via the Ponte Navi bridge, crossing over the Adige with its gentle lapping sounds. Sure, the Wi-Fi can be spotty in the older wings – I had to switch spots in the courtyard to upload photos – but that’s a minor gripe in a city this romantic. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially off-season when the gardens are quieter and you can snag a room for a steal. If Verona’s on your list, skip the big chains and give this gem a shot – you might just end up extending your stay like I did.

Reviews of Giardino Giusti House & Court

  • Ian from United Kingdom – 6 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location, just 10 minutes from the centre of Verona. Lovely room in a quiet courtyard.

What could be improved: Breakfast at a local bar was fine but a bit of variety might be good.

  • Bruna from United Kingdom – 3 April 2025 (8/10)

Close to the city centre. Staff were very accommodating. The room was tidy and clean. Bed was comfortable. They came everyday for room service.

What could be improved: Shower right next to the bed. Whilst the bathroom has the toilet and sink.

  • Justin from United States – 18 March 2025 (9/10)

Well priced, office on site, reasonable walking distance to city center.

  • Mary from Denmark – 14 March 2025 (8/10)

It was clean and comfortable. Facilities and breakfast were very nice, the location was good and the staff was very friendly

What could be improved: The ceiling was not very isolated, so you could hear every step from the upstairs neighbours. Woke us up every morning ://

  • Dana from Czech Republic – 8 March 2025 (9/10)

The receptionist was sooo kind and friendly, we felt immediately welcomed 🙂 the apartment itself is located 2 min from the reception, there is a small car park which is secured by a gate. The room itself was well designed, there was even a coffee/tea making ,station, which was hidden in a wardrobe – cute and smart 😉 I loved the bathroom – great shower and huge space (apart. nb. 8). Really quiet at night and only 15 min from Verona town centre (you can basically walk everywhere from the apartment, the location is awesome). We will definitely come again 🙂

What could be improved: You have to go for breakfast to a little café (4 min from the apartment which is fine), but the breakfast is served (tea x coffee, boiled eggs, biscuits, bread with ham and croissant) – a bit limited.

  • Herič from Slovenia – 7 March 2025 (9/10)

Everything, the room, the food, how close everything was.

What could be improved: Nothing, all good

  • De from Spain – 14 February 2025 (8/10)

What I liked about our stay in this hotel was that it was very close to the main touristic attraction and the beds were cozy. I highly recommend this place as the price-quality is unmatchable since it includes one colazione in a place nearby with great coffee!

What could be improved: The rooms are bit far of the desk lobby, since they are in another location. Additionally, at night, it kinda felt insecure to get in. The staff didn’t have a pleasant attitude when it came to asking them if they could fix a problem with our room’s door.

  • Steven from United Kingdom – 29 January 2025 (9/10)

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Giardino Giusti House & Court. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is very quiet, but it is also quite convenient, being only a short walking distance from the old part of the city centre and also near to the Verona Porta Vescovo train station. There is private parking in the courtyard, although we came by public transport.
Our room had a very comfortable bed and a nice shower, plus en-suite coffee and tea-making facilities were provided. Umbrellas were thoughtfully provided too for guests, which was really helpful one day when it rained.

What could be improved: The main office, where the keys are collected from, is located a little way from the guest house and court and we struggled to find it initially, needing help from the map on a mobile telephone.

  • Olivera from Serbia – 17 January 2025 (8/10)

Excellent location, clean, parking for a decent price, comfortable beds, coffee maker

What could be improved: in one of the three apartments we took, the shower cabin was located in the living room😱

  • Cvijic from Serbia – 16 September 2023 (9/10)

Excellent location, great breakfast and lovely room.
