The hotel sits in this interesting spot that feels residential but isn’t too far from the action – you know how some places claim to be “centrally located” but then you’re hiking 20 minutes just to find decent coffee? This isn’t that. I mean, it’s not right in the thick of everything, but honestly, that worked in my favor. The neighborhood has this authentic Italian feel where you’ll see locals doing their daily shopping and kids playing in small squares. There’s actually a fantastic little bakery about a five-minute walk away where the owner barely speaks English but makes these incredible cornetti that put hotel breakfast pastries to shame.

What really impressed me was how they’ve thought about the practical stuff that most places overlook. The wifi actually works – and I’m talking about proper, reliable internet, not the usual hotel wifi that dies the moment you try to video call home. The rooms are clean and comfortable without being fancy, which is exactly what I wanted. The bathroom was one of those small but efficient European setups where everything has its place, and the shower pressure was surprisingly good (you never know what you’re going to get with Italian plumbing, right?). I did notice some street noise in the mornings around 7 AM when people were heading to work, but nothing that would wake you up if you’re a decent sleeper. The staff was genuinely helpful too – not in that overly scripted way, but like they actually cared about making sure I had what I needed. When I couldn’t figure out the best route to avoid traffic on my way out of town, the guy at reception spent a good ten minutes drawing me a little map and explaining which roads to skip during rush hour. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to navigate unfamiliar territory with a rental car and questionable GPS signal.
