You know what caught me off guard about Home Away From Home? The name actually delivers on its promise, which honestly doesn’t happen that often with hotels. I walked in expecting some generic three-star spot, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about this place that had me feeling settled within minutes of dropping my bags.

The lobby has this lived-in comfort that reminds me more of a friend’s well-appointed living room than a typical hotel reception area – think warm lighting, books you’d actually want to read scattered around, and staff who seem like they’ve been working there forever (in the best way). My room was exactly what you’d hope for: clean without being sterile, comfortable without trying too hard to impress. The bed was honestly better than what I have at home, and I mean that literally because I found myself staying up later than usual just reading because it was so comfortable. There’s decent soundproofing too, which matters more than people realize until they’re stuck listening to ice machines and hallway conversations at 2 AM.

What really sets this place apart is how they handle the little things that frequent travelers obsess over but hotels often miss. Check-in was refreshingly quick – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of amenities I’ll never use, just “here’s your key, here’s the wifi password, let us know if you need anything.” The housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and I actually appreciated that they didn’t replace my half-used toiletries every single day like some places do. With an 8.9 rating, I was expecting good things, but sometimes high ratings can be misleading – not here though. You can tell the score comes from guests who actually stayed long enough to appreciate the thoughtful touches rather than just being impressed by flashy common areas. It’s the kind of place where you might end up chatting with other guests in the hallway because everyone seems relaxed and approachable, probably because the atmosphere just puts you at ease. I’d definitely book here again, and I’m pretty picky about where I stay after years of disappointing hotel experiences.

  It was clean and very comfortable. A Lovlely apartment which is close to literally everything.

  Apartment is very well located, close to the main center of Verona (10 min walk). There is plenty of parking – for a fee – on the street where the apartment is located. Overall, the apartment checked all the boxes to us. The host was also very responsive and check-in was uneventful. I highly recommend it.
  
  What could be improved: The only downside is that there is only one bathroom but that is not the owner's fault. If you are traveling with a large party that could be an issue to you. As I said, such does not impact the overall high quality of the apartment, and I would still recommend the apartment.

  The cleanliness and simplicity of the apartment with necessities such as salt, olive oil and paper towels. Plenty of blankets and extra comforters.

  The owner contacted me to let me know a bed was misaligned or slightly broken. That was super kind and honest from him, more owners should be like that. Very good comminication with the owner also made things very easy.

  We loved to stay in the apartment , it was super clean comfortable and had a lot of small designer items that shows that the owner cares about their apartment and the people who stay there for example little carpets in the bathroom / toilets on the tiled floor.
  The apartment and contents of apartment feel brand new , spacious and very clean.
  with 2 spacious bedrooms and large living room , with large TV with Netflix it worked very well for us.
  It did feel like home away from home
  
  What could be improved: I got contacted by owner after we left , to ask us what could be improved during our stay so kudos to that !
  We only really had small remarks to be honest like the apartment could benefit from large tea cups , there were a lot of small espresso ones I guess in Italy tea is not that popular 🙂
  Also the apartment has got a lot of electrical switches and some smart home upgrades there was one switch that controls aircons that looked like just normal light switch , it took us long time to find it.
  The toilet it was mentioned in one of the reviews – is basically a double toilet with 1 shower cabin in the middle it worked good for us since 2 children can use toilet at the same time may not work for 2 adults who want more privacy.
