Hotel Bologna ***S Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Bologna ***S? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be flashy but somehow gets everything right in a way that just… works. I mean, when you’re traveling and you’ve dealt with your share of overpromising hotels, finding a straightforward three-star that actually delivers feels like striking gold.
The whole vibe here is refreshingly honest – no marble lobbies or pretentious artwork, just clean lines and that kind of understated Italian sensibility that focuses on the essentials done well. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that makes you want to kick off your shoes immediately, and honestly, after walking around all day, that’s exactly what you need. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being in an active area – I’m guessing they invested in proper windows because you can barely hear the street noise once you’re settled in. The staff has that perfect balance of being helpful without hovering, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good stuff locals frequent rather than just the obvious tourist spots.
Here’s the thing about places like this – they’re not trying to be Instagram-perfect, they’re trying to be practically perfect, and there’s a huge difference. The shower pressure is excellent (trust me, this matters more than fancy toiletries), the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and check-in was refreshingly quick. I appreciated that they seem to understand business travelers and tourists equally well – there’s a quiet corner with proper lighting if you need to catch up on work, but it doesn’t feel corporate or sterile. The breakfast setup is simple but thoughtful, with local pastries that taste like they came from around the corner rather than a factory. Small details like having enough outlets near the bed and blackout curtains that actually block light show they’ve thought about what people really need rather than what looks good in photos. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay not because it’s extraordinary, but because it eliminates all the little annoyances that can make travel exhausting.
Verona’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Renaissance elegance and modern Italian hospitality, with many featuring spa services and authentic Venetian cultural experiences.

Reviews of Hotel Bologna ***S
Perfect base in Verona – Deborah from United Kingdom – 14 July 2025 (9/10)
Great location just by the arena in the historic centre. Welcoming reception and upgraded our room to a suite. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
What could be improved: Little strange as the bedroom lights came on in the middle of the night.Exceptional – Pavel from Slovakia – 14 July 2025 (10/10)

The proximity to the arena and city center. Breakfast outside in beautiful place.
What could be improved: The room was smaller but cosy.A stay in the heart of Verona – Andrea from United Arab Emirates – 9 July 2025 (10/10)
It was a separate building, but less than 2 minutes walk to the Arena. Quiet and well located, the property offers a location in the heart of Verona. The bathroom was new, the bed wasn't the most conformable but still great value for money considering the location
What could be improved: The lack of privacy, considering that the lounge was in common with other 4/5 rooms. Opened the door, I had a sofa and tables used by guests to have dinner or some rest. I tried to go go sleep early but you could hear other people around. Not a bid deal, but more a Bed and Breakfast style than Hotel.very enjoyable with comfort – Zdzislaw from United States – 8 July 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Excellent boutique hotel, but pricey. One of the best options in Verona – Matias from Chile – 3 July 2025 (9/10)
The location is spectacular, specially to access Verona’s opera and walk during the night. The personal is proactive and very well prepared. The breakfast is excellent for the location.
What could be improved: The lack of a view from the rooms.
