Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to Hotel Giulietta, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes these mid-range spots surprise you in the best possible way, and this little gem absolutely did that for me.

The thing about Hotel Giulietta is that it feels like someone actually cares about the place. I mean, sure, it’s not going to blow your mind with marble lobbies or infinity pools, but there’s this warmth to it that you don’t always get at fancier hotels. The staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests – not that forced hospitality smile you get sometimes, but actual friendliness. When I checked in, the front desk guy spent like ten minutes telling me about this little bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM (and honestly, their cornetti were incredible). That 8.1 rating makes total sense once you spend a night there.

The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully simple” – clean lines, comfortable beds that don’t leave you with a crick in your neck, and those little touches that show someone’s paying attention. The bathroom had this amazing rain shower head, which I definitely wasn’t expecting at this price point. Actually, the water pressure was better than the four-star place I stayed at last month, go figure. One thing though – if you’re a light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs. The walls aren’t paper-thin or anything, but you might hear your neighbors if they’re having a particularly animated conversation. It’s not a dealbreaker, just something to know going in.

What really won me over was the breakfast situation. They don’t advertise it as anything fancy, but the spread they put out each morning was genuinely good – fresh fruit that actually tasted like fruit, coffee that didn’t make me wince, and this selection of local pastries that changed daily. I ended up chatting with other guests most mornings, which honestly doesn’t happen that often when you’re traveling solo. There’s something about the place that just makes people more relaxed and talkative. The whole vibe is sort of like staying at a friend’s really well-run guesthouse, if that makes sense. You feel welcome without feeling like you’re being sold to constantly, which is refreshing these days.

  This hotel was lovely, the room was clean and had good air conditioning. The hotel is out of the main center of Verona but with good bus links and taxis were affordable and easy to get.

  A good size room, close enough to the train station. Good value for money.
  
  What could be improved: It’s quite far to walk to the city centre along a busy road and the path isn’t great, similar for getting to the train station too. I also found the spa was a little expensive.
