Hotel Maxim Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Hotel Maxim, I wasn’t expecting much from a solid 4-star place, but this hotel actually surprised me in some really good ways. The lobby has this sort of understated elegance that doesn’t try too hard, you know? Clean lines, decent lighting, and the staff at check-in were genuinely helpful without being overly scripted. I mean, they actually seemed to care about making sure I had what I needed, which is rarer than it should be these days.

What really got me was the attention to smaller details throughout the property. The hallways are quiet – like, properly quiet, not just “we put carpet down and hoped for the best” quiet. My room had this nice weight to the door when it closed, and the blackout curtains actually blocked out light completely, which saved my sleep more than once. The bathroom was spotless with good water pressure, though honestly the shower could’ve been a bit bigger. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel-bed backache, and they’d clearly invested in decent pillows rather than those flat pancake things some places give you.

Here’s the thing about Hotel Maxim – it sits in that sweet spot where the price makes sense for what you’re getting. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works properly and feels well-maintained. The morning coffee in the lobby is actually drinkable (I’ve stayed places where I questioned what they were serving), and the wifi reached every corner of my room without dropping out during video calls. Parking was straightforward when I needed it, and the neighborhood felt safe walking around in the evenings. If you’re looking for a place that handles the basics really well without any unnecessary bells and whistles, this is honestly a solid choice. It’s the kind of hotel where you sleep well, your stuff stays secure, and you leave thinking “yeah, I’d book that again” rather than “well, that was an experience I need to process.”

What could be improved: Nothing in particular yet

  • Jasvir from United Kingdom – 23 November 2024 (8/10)

All good but not much choice for vegetarians.

What could be improved: Not much choice for vegetarian.

  • Kenneth from Australia – 13 September 2024 (8/10)

Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable with everything I needed. Location was accessable and parking secure.. Did I mention value for money? Yeah I'd stay again and again and….

What could be improved: Air con was not easy to operate and no information on how to use it

  • Bianca from Australia – 30 August 2024 (8/10)

Comfortable rooms and a great breakfast! Nice and welcoming staff.

  • Dorcas from Ireland – 26 August 2024 (7/10)

    Amazing staff, especially Marco.

What could be improved: Good breakfast, good value for money. Just go on and book it

  • Lucy from Canada – 4 August 2024 (7/10)

    The price for its location

What could be improved: The air conditioning wasn’t working properly and water was leaking on the floor. We told them several times to come and fix it and they came on the third day of the four days we were there to fix it. A little slow to responding.

  • Banicco from United Kingdom – 4 August 2024 (8/10)

The staff are very helpful. The cleaners clean the hotel rooms every time and are very efficient and friendly too. The receptionists are very helpful especially Giulia, Marco, Crleste just to name a few. There were all brilliant. The restaurant staff for the breakfast were also very nice

What could be improved: I did not like the breakfast atall. The same thing was served throughout our 7 days in the hotel. They don't have varieties and most times the food are cold. They urgently need to work on the breakfast. Also the hotel has no indoor restaurant as one will have to source for where to get food thought there are many fruits shops and groceries shops around the hotel. Perhaps for a night or two ok not for a long vacation

  • Luis from Portugal – 29 June 2024 (8/10)

Nice breakfast with eggs – good variety. Hotel has garage.

What could be improved: Old decoration – entrance and breakfast room are lower than street level – little natural light.

  • Francesco from Egypt – 20 April 2024 (8/10)

    Location

  • Damjan from Serbia – 28 March 2024 (7/10)

Excellent location, free parking outside, kind stuff, comfort room, varied breakfast, good wifi

What could be improved: old furniture, broken shower
