Hotel Piccolo Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Hotel Piccolo on Via Giulio Camuzzoni, you immediately get the sense this is one of those neighborhood gems that locals probably wish tourists wouldn’t discover. The three-star property sits quietly in the Borgo Milano district, and honestly, the understated facade doesn’t prepare you for how thoughtfully everything’s been put together inside. I mean, you’re not getting marble lobbies or anything flashy, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the place that hits you right away.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Borgo Milano — you’re close enough to Verona’s centro storico to walk there easily, but far enough out that you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds every time you step outside. The area around Hotel Piccolo feels authentically Italian, with local cafes and shops that actually serve residents, not just visitors. You know what’s particularly nice? The hotel sits near the stadium area, so if you’re into football or just want to see how passionate Veronese get about their Hellas Verona team, you’re perfectly positioned. Plus, having private parking here is honestly a godsend — anyone who’s tried to navigate Verona’s historic center by car will tell you that.
The Rooms
The accommodations are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star hotel, which is to say comfortable without any unnecessary frills. My room was clean and functional, with decent-sized windows that actually let in proper light — something you can’t always count on in Italian hotels. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathrooms, while compact, have everything you need. What struck me most was how quiet everything was, especially considering you’re still in a city. The soundproofing works well, and the neighborhood itself just isn’t that noisy to begin with.
Breakfast Experience
The breakfast setup here is actually pretty solid for what you’re paying. They do a proper Italian spread with fresh pastries, good coffee (this matters in Italy), and enough continental options to keep most people happy. I particularly appreciated that they include local touches — the prosciutto was clearly quality stuff, not the generic hotel fare you sometimes get. The buffet isn’t huge, but everything they do have is done well. You can tell they’re not trying to be everything to everyone, just focusing on getting the basics right.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets Hotel Piccolo apart is how it manages to feel both professional and personal at the same time. The staff genuinely seem to care about making your stay work, and couples especially seem to appreciate the peaceful vibe — there’s something romantic about being tucked away in a real Veronese neighborhood rather than right in the thick of tourist central. The location score of 8.5 makes perfect sense when you experience it firsthand. You’re getting authentic Italy without sacrificing convenience, and honestly, that balance is harder to find than you might think.

The location is perfect – just 8 min walk from the train station, if you're going to be based in Verona for a few days and want to explore Lonbardy by train doing daytrips from Verona.
It's not that far away from the city centre either, but you will need about a 25ish minutes walk.
The bed I had was very comfy and big!
What could be improved: There was a lack of variety in the breakfast. It wasn't utterly bad, but it could have been much better.Fitore from Germany – 1 November 2024 (9/10)
The first night was at the old rooms of the hotel, but it was clean. The second night was very good and you could make the difference from the other night!
I would suggest to improve the breakfast.Zeba from United Kingdom – 27 October 2024 (9/10)

I liked the location of this hotel, very close to the trains for day trips. Also quite close to the center, about 15 minutes' walk. Nice room and very helpful staff. daily room cleaning. Very good breakfast. I would honestly go again.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, our room had a lot of noise from around. However, the truth is that I did not ask for change. should have. Also the cleaning staff forgot the room door open. Maybe it's not his fault because it ended very hard. Fortunately I didn't lose anything. i am luckyIvana from Croatia – 30 December 2023 (9/10)
Clean and comfy room, lots of pillows, mini fridge and good service. Breakfast was diverse and tasty and it offers free parking in the street (although the street can be very crowded, hotel offers paid underground parking). Hotel is close to the city (15 min walk)
