Il Cappello Di Giulietta Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Il Cappello Di Giulietta on Via Cappello, you can’t help but smile at the name — it literally translates to “Juliet’s Hat,” and honestly, it’s perfectly fitting for a hotel that sits right in the heart of Shakespeare country. This three-star property doesn’t try to be something it’s not, but what it does, it does really well. The building itself has that classic Veronese charm, tucked into the historic center where every cobblestone seems to have a story.
Location Magic
Here’s the thing about staying in Verona‘s historical center — you’re literally steps away from everything that matters. I mean, Juliet’s balcony is practically around the corner, and the Piazza delle Erbe is close enough that you can hear the morning market setting up. What I love about this spot is that while you’re in the thick of things during the day, it actually quiets down nicely in the evenings. The couples who stay here seem to get it — there’s something romantic about wandering these medieval streets without having to trek back to some hotel on the outskirts.
The Room Experience
You know what surprised me most? The beds are genuinely comfortable — and I’m someone who usually tosses and turns in hotel beds. Each room has this cozy, lived-in feel without being cramped, which is no small feat in a historic building like this. The decor strikes that nice balance between honoring the building’s age and giving you modern comfort. Sure, you’re not getting massive spaces here, but honestly, when Verona is your backyard, who wants to spend time indoors anyway?
The Neighborhood Vibe
What I really appreciate about Via Cappello is how it feels authentically Veronese rather than touristy, despite being so central. You’ll find little cafés where locals actually drink their morning espresso, and the evening passeggiata (that lovely Italian tradition of the evening stroll) flows right past your doorstep. The street has this gentle buzz during the day — enough to feel alive but not so much that you can’t enjoy a quiet moment on your way back from dinner.
Why Guests Love It
Look, Il Cappello Di Giulietta isn’t trying to wow you with fancy amenities or over-the-top service. Instead, it gives you something arguably more valuable — a genuine Verona experience in a spot that couples consistently rave about. The staff seems to understand that most guests are here to explore the city, so they focus on making sure you’re comfortable and well-rested for your adventures. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in the real Verona, not some sanitized version of it. For the price point and location, it’s honestly hard to beat if you want to be in the center of everything without breaking the bank.

EVERYTHING!
Frederico greeted me and lugged my suitcase up the stairs for me. He has been a most charming and gracious host. The location in Città Antica was perfect and so close to all of the areas I wanted to see. The room was beautiful with huge windows that open for a view onto the bustling streets below. It's a few doors down from Juliets house and Piazza delle Erbe was steps from there, with Arena di Verona just around the corner. The bed was comfortable, and the room had everything I needed and more. The common space was very pretty and well equipped. The entrance into this old palazzo was quite grand! I would highly recommend this property/host to anyone visiting Verona, and look forward to my next visit. Frederico is, without doubt, the "host with the most!"
Grazie, Frederico

Great location, hidden away just a bit further down from Juliet’s house. Good soundproofing didn’t hear any noise. Spacious room with AC and the option to use Netflix etc on the tv. Frederico helped with checking in early and leaving my bags after check out, great communication.
What could be improved: More my preference and it wouldn’t put me off booking again but I didn’t love the shared kitchen area.Ian from United Kingdom – 24 September 2023 (9/10)
Excellent location, nice big bathroom.
Rosie from United States – 17 September 2023 (8/10)
The location is wonderful. It’s beautiful older castle like feel. The bathroom is big and the shower is wonderful. The common area with a kitchen is nice if you want to cook. Has a seating area.
What could be improved: We had luggage that was somewhat heavy, so the 32 stairs up to the entrance were a bit much. If you are not carrying too much luggage, not a big deal.Frank from Germany – 27 August 2023 (9/10)
– Excellent central location
– Very quiet
– Fairly spacious, with a couch
– Comfortable furnishings
What could be improved: – Large flight of stairs before reaching the elevator (but we were informed in advance about this)
