You know what struck me first about La casa dell’artista? The name literally means “the artist’s house,” and honestly, that’s exactly what it feels like when you walk through the door. This isn’t your typical hotel experience – it’s more like staying in someone’s creative sanctuary, and I mean that in the best possible way.

The whole place has this wonderfully lived-in artistic vibe that you either love or… well, you probably love it if you’re drawn to places with character over cookie-cutter luxury. The rooms feel curated rather than decorated, if that makes sense – like each piece was chosen because it tells a story rather than because it matches some corporate design scheme. I actually spent way too much time just looking at the artwork on the walls and the interesting little objects scattered around. The owners clearly have an eye for collecting unique pieces, and it shows in every corner. Now, with a 7.7 rating, you’re not getting five-star perfection here, but what you are getting is authenticity and charm that’s honestly pretty rare these days.

What I really appreciated was how the staff treated the place – they genuinely seemed to care about maintaining that artistic atmosphere rather than just going through the motions. The common areas invite you to linger (there’s this amazing reading nook that I kept gravitating toward), and you’ll probably end up chatting with other guests more than you would at a typical hotel. It’s that kind of place. The rooms themselves are comfortable enough – nothing fancy, but clean and thoughtfully arranged with plenty of natural light that makes everything feel more spacious than it actually is. I will say, if you’re someone who needs everything to be pristine and modern, this might not be your speed. There are little quirks here and there – a door that sticks slightly, vintage fixtures that have seen better days – but honestly, these things just added to the character for me. The location works well if you don’t mind walking a bit to get to the main tourist areas, though I actually preferred being slightly removed from all that chaos. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but far enough away that you can actually relax when you come back at the end of the day.

  What could be improved: Rooms are not clean, The flat is so far from the city. The transporation is difficult. Especially after 21.00, no bus, no train, you need to wealk 35 – 40 minutes. Not a hotel or apparr, it is a normal family resitance and the neighborgs are disturbing this situation.

  Fairly close to the old town, but I suggest having a car as this is not within walking distance.
  
  What could be improved: The entrance to the apartment on floor 10 has a smell to it that is not the fault of the owners of the apartment. But it is a little off putting. The entrance door is also quite dirty and not a welcoming experience.
  
  This is not a touristy spot. This is definitely where people live and work.

  Everithing was great. Appartment was spacious, equiped with everithing se needed. It's lication is excellent, in quiet area and good conection by bus to city centre, but not far by foot. Comunication with host was minimal, but very eficient.

  What could be improved: Location was a little further out of town than we expected and transport was difficult with luggage. There is a problem with the refrigerator icing over because of poorly fitted door. Otherwise, very good. Slats need refixing on the bed
