La casa di Sabrina Overview

You know what caught me off guard about La casa di Sabrina? The moment I walked through the door, it actually felt like stepping into someone’s carefully curated home rather than a typical hotel. I mean, with a 9.7 rating, I was expecting something good, but this three-star gem honestly punches way above its weight class.

The thing about Sabrina’s place – and I’m pretty sure there’s a real Sabrina behind all this – is that every corner tells a story. The furniture isn’t that mass-produced hotel stuff you see everywhere; it’s more like pieces someone actually chose because they loved them. I spent way too much time just wandering around, noticing little details like the vintage books scattered on side tables (and yes, they’re real books, not decorative props) and the way the morning light hits the common areas just right. The whole vibe is intimate without being cramped, if that makes sense. You’ll find maybe a dozen other guests at most, which means the breakfast conversations actually happen instead of that awkward hotel silence.

What really won me over was how genuine everything felt. The staff – well, I’m not even sure they think of themselves as “staff” – they’re more like hosts who remember your coffee preference by day two and casually mention the best time to avoid crowds at nearby attractions. Parking isn’t an issue here, which is honestly a relief because nobody warns you about that stuff until you’re circling blocks with your luggage. The rooms themselves have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake; thick towels that actually dry you off, beds that don’t feel like they came from a catalog, and windows that open to let in real air instead of just recycled hotel atmosphere. I did notice the walls aren’t soundproof – you might hear your neighbors chatting if they’re right next door – but it never felt disruptive, more like the gentle hum of people actually enjoying their stay. The whole experience reminded me why I started traveling in the first place, to find those unexpected spots that feel less like accommodation and more like a temporary home where someone actually cares whether you sleep well.

Best hotels in Verona range from luxurious properties in the historic city center to boutique hotels with stunning views of the Adige River and ancient Roman amphitheater.

  • Bonnie from Australia – 8 May 2024 (10/10)

The hosts were so kind and friendly. Despite not speaking any English they immediately made us feel at home and welcome. The place was lovely and clean, a really spacious place for four people to share, with the use of a large backyard where our kids felt right at home. The bus stop is almost directly in front of the apartment, so very easy for getting around.

What could be improved: The church bells do start to ring at 7am right next door, so wear ear plugs if you like to sleep in.

  • Gular from Azerbaijan – 16 August 2023 (10/10)

I liked everything. The hosts can not speak English, but they were so kind, polite. I tried to explain everything with google translator. Very clean, comfortable apartment. They put water, juice, sweets and even vine for us. I will definetely be back to this beautiful apartment.

What could be improved: Apartment was a bit far away from the Verona center (30 min). But there was bus stop near the apartment and you can find bus until 22:00.

  • Igor from Czech Republic – 9 July 2023 (10/10)

We were pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of the accomodation. The owners were very kind and they were ready to help despite of not speaking English. We felt really welcomed. Bells were not a problem at all.

What could be improved: The place is better than you would guess from the photos!

The property was fabulous. The apartment is very big and everything was very very clean. When you open the door it smells so good and clean. It is in a quite location and very near to city center by bus. Flavio & Sabrina are wonderful persons. They brought a glass of wine, drinks for our kids, water and coffe for us. They were always there to help us with advice and other things needed. Flavio even ofered a ride for us with his own car. We loved our stay there and I would recommend this property to everyone. For me, the evaluation is more than 10
