La casa in via Venti Overview
You know what struck me first about La casa in via Venti? It’s one of those places that completely defies its 3-star rating – I mean, honestly, whoever classified this gem clearly didn’t spend enough time there. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that you’ve stumbled onto something special, something that the big booking sites haven’t quite figured out yet.
The whole place has this incredibly authentic Italian residential feel (which makes sense given the name translates to “the house on Twenty Street”), and I actually found myself forgetting I was in a hotel half the time. The owners – and I’m pretty sure they live on-site – have managed to create that perfect balance where you feel like a welcomed house guest rather than just another booking number. The common areas have these wonderfully worn wooden floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a real building with history, not some sterile chain property. What really got me was the attention to small details – fresh flowers that actually get changed regularly, books scattered around that people have clearly been reading, and this amazing coffee setup that honestly rivals what you’ll find at most cafés.
The rooms themselves are where that 9.5 rating really starts to make sense. Everything feels thoughtfully curated without being precious about it – you’ve got proper linens that someone clearly cares about, lighting that actually works for reading (thank god), and these little touches like locally-made soaps and a selection of teas that changes seasonally. I stayed during what I’d guess was a quieter period, and the sound insulation was surprisingly good considering the building’s age. The bathrooms are compact but intelligently designed – you know how some places cram everything in awkwardly? Not here. Check-in was refreshingly personal too; instead of that robotic key-card-and-elevator-directions routine, I got genuine recommendations for the neighborhood and a hand-drawn map showing the best morning pastry spot three blocks over.
Here’s the thing though – and this might actually be part of its charm – don’t expect glossy perfection. The WiFi occasionally gets moody, there’s no fancy gym or business center, and if you’re looking for 24-hour room service, you’re in the wrong place. But if you want to experience what it feels like to actually stay somewhere with personality, somewhere that feels connected to its surroundings rather than dropped in from corporate headquarters, then this place will absolutely win you over. I found myself extending my stay by two nights, which honestly never happens to me, just because leaving felt like saying goodbye to friends rather than checking out of a hotel.

Perfect location: very close to the city center, with shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment has everything needed for a comfortable stay, with great attention to detail—it truly feels like you were expected and warmly welcomed.
The host deserves special mention: very responsive and attentive, even leaving us a Christmas gift! It was an incredibly pleasant experience.

A generously sized and well located apartment within easy walking distance of this historic town centre. The apartment was well equipped, very clean and tidy. The drinks in the fridge, town map & info and ticket for the funicular rail were nice additional touches.

Sparkly clean! Very kind owner. We were extrimly happy with this appartment. It is near to the city center. Next to the house there is a bus which lead to the train station. In the appartment we found all needed amenities. The bed was very comfortable. In the large kitchen there are everything you could need. Even the fridge was full with refreshments – coka cola, bier, water… I definitely recommend this place. Very good for value!

What could be improved: there was just a horrible smell in the corridor to the apartmentDawn from United Kingdom – 22 May 2023 (10/10)
The property was so well equipped and so clean we were absolutely delighted when we arrived. The location was good and easy to walk into the centre. Every comfort and need was covered. a lovely selection of welcome drinks. beautiful towels, handy information leaflets… 10/10
What could be improved: We’d hired a car and parking was a nightmare! if we went again we would not take a car. This was our fault and not that of Marco the owner.
