First Impressions

Walking up to La Lirica rooms, you might actually miss it at first — it’s tucked into a typical Veronese building on Via dei Mutilati, which honestly makes it feel more authentic than those flashy hotel facades. The entrance is on the first floor (what Americans would call the second floor), and there’s something charming about climbing those Italian stairs to reach your accommodation. It’s a three-star property, but don’t let that fool you into thinking it’s basic — the location alone makes this place worth considering.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about La Lirica rooms — you’re literally in the heart of Verona’s historical center, and I mean the real heart, not some tourist-brochure version of it. You can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes, which means you’ll probably hear the crowds during the day, but honestly, that’s part of the Verona experience. The Piazza delle Erbe is practically around the corner, and you know what? Having private parking available on-site is actually a huge deal here because navigating Verona’s ZTL (limited traffic zone) can be a nightmare if you’re driving.

The Rooms

The rooms themselves are clean and functional — nothing fancy, but they’ve got character in that Italian way where everything feels lived-in rather than sterile. I appreciated the high ceilings, which you’ll find in most of these old Veronese buildings, and the windows actually open (a small thing that matters when you want fresh air instead of constant AC). The bathrooms are compact but well-designed, and honestly, you’re not going to spend much time in your room anyway when you’re this close to everything Verona has to offer.

Getting Around

What I really loved about staying at La Lirica rooms is how walkable everything becomes. The Arena di Verona is maybe a seven-minute stroll, and you can wander through those narrow medieval streets without any real plan and stumble onto something interesting every few blocks. If you’re planning day trips — maybe to Lake Garda or the Valpolicella wine region — having that private parking means you can actually use Verona as a proper base without the headache of finding a spot when you return.

Why Guests Love It

Couples seem to absolutely adore this place, and I can see why — there’s something romantic about being so centrally located that you can just step outside and be immediately immersed in Verona’s atmosphere. The fact that guests rate the location so highly tells you everything you need to know about the trade-offs here. Sure, you’re not getting five-star amenities, but you’re getting something potentially more valuable: the ability to experience Verona like you’re actually living there, even if it’s just for a few days. When you can walk to dinner, walk to sightseeing, and walk back home without ever needing a taxi or bus, that’s worth quite a lot.

  Nice place, very close to Piazza Bra, the plaza where you'll find the Arena. Close to the train station and to the Bus Station. The town is strategically connected to Bologna-BRenner (the Austrian corridor) train/highway and also connected to Milan-Venice (the other corridor) with HighSpeed Trains and Highways.

  The location was very convenient for the arena and other attractions in Verona. The room was clean and had everything you need including a fridge – it was quite compact. Other kitchen facilities were in the communal reception area. The host allowed us to store our luggage for free after check out so we could spend our day in Verona and pick it up from the secure communal area before onward travel – this was very helpful. The host had excellent communication too 😊
  
  What could be improved: The room was not very soundproof so you could hear other residents in their rooms which all led off from the main communal area. This didn’t affect us really but is worth mentioning.

  Very clean and well kept! The location is great! Beds were comfortable and there is some instant coffe/tea in the room, which is nice in a pinch.
