La Veronetta di Franca Overview

You know what really surprised me about La Veronetta di Franca? It’s one of those places that completely flies under the radar, but honestly shouldn’t. I mean, with a 9.3 rating, you’d think more people would be talking about it, but I guess that’s actually part of its charm – it feels like you’ve discovered something special that the tour groups haven’t caught onto yet.

The first thing that hits you when you walk in is how genuinely Italian this place feels, and I don’t mean in that overdone, tourist-trap way. It’s more like… well, imagine if your sophisticated Italian aunt decided to open a boutique hotel and put all her best family pieces in it. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance that makes you want to settle into one of those velvet armchairs with a good book and just stay there for hours. Franca (yes, she’s a real person and you’ll probably meet her) has this incredible eye for mixing antique pieces with modern comfort – there’s original terrazzo flooring that’s been beautifully restored, and these gorgeous vintage mirrors that catch the light just right in the afternoons.

What I really love about this place is how it strikes that perfect balance between being polished enough for a special occasion but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you need to tiptoe around. The rooms are honestly beautiful – not huge by American standards, but thoughtfully designed with these little touches that show someone actually cares. The linens are properly crisp (you know the difference when you feel it), and there’s usually fresh flowers that smell amazing, not those sad carnations you get at chain hotels. The bathrooms are modern without being cold, if that makes sense – good water pressure, which is honestly half the battle in older European buildings. I stayed there during a particularly hot summer and the air conditioning actually worked, which… well, if you’ve traveled in Italy, you know that’s not always a given. The only tiny complaint I’d have is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in some rooms, but honestly, maybe that’s not such a bad thing when you’re trying to disconnect anyway. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself lingering over breakfast longer than planned, partly because everything tastes so good, but mostly because there’s this unhurried atmosphere that just makes you slow down and actually enjoy being wherever you are.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.

Reviews of La Veronetta di Franca

  • Fussell from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (10/10)

Had everything we needed, comfortable, clean and incredible location. Would definitely stay again!

  • Caterina from Italy – 9 March 2025 (10/10)

    La pulizia e la posizione.

  • Wouter from Germany – 10 February 2025 (9/10)

Elisa is a wonderful, kind host and the apartment is simply fantastic. Clean, spacious, and very quiet at night. The heart of Verona is at walking distance, but don't neglect the little neighbourhood you'll be staying in, it has plenty to offer, too! Next time I return to Verona, I will gladly book this apartment again.

What could be improved: I might be imagining things here, but I think the double bed is 190cm long? My feet were dangling over the edge (I'm 1,85m tall). I adjusted by simply sleeping diagonal in the otherwise comfortable bed, but it's something for taller travellers to keep in mind 🙂

  • Debora from Italy – 13 January 2025 (10/10)

    Struttura accogliente, pulita e ordinata
    La signora super disponibile

  • Jessica from United Kingdom – 14 December 2024 (10/10)

I like Elisa and her amazing communication and how thoughtful she was. The apartment was superb for our needs as a family.

What could be improved: If you do have young children or a pushchair be aware that this property is on the third floor.

  • Lulliri from Italy – 18 November 2024 (10/10)

    Posizione e struttura top❤️

What could be improved: Tutto perfetto

  • Anita from Switzerland – 30 October 2024 (9/10)

  • Gerard from Ireland – 17 October 2024 (8/10)

Spacious, comfortable flat within easy walking to the tourist area of Verona, on several bus routes with a nearby friendly bar, a nice takeaway cafe and a local shop.

What could be improved: There was a slight problem gaining access but the owner appeared quickly and let us in

  • Jessica from United Kingdom – 8 September 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was clean, comfortable and convenient. Elisa, the host, made it exceptional! She was warm and welcoming, very helpful and a great support when our flight was cancelled and we needed to find somewhere else to stay!

  • Lucia from Slovakia – 20 August 2024 (10/10)

The apartment has a smaller but well-equipped kitchen with an entrance to the terrace. Kitchen has a big fridge, oven and has all the utensils needed. The beds are very comfortable and the bathroom was freshly renovated. Also there is enough storage room in the bedrooms. The wifi works well also for the work-related stuff. Living room has comfy sofa bed as well.
