Here’s what I love about staying at La Zulina — you’re positioned perfectly in Verona’s top-rated area without the tourist trap feeling. Via Seminario is this narrow, cobblestone street that feels authentically Veronese, yet you can walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes (though locals will tell you it’s completely fabricated). The real magic happens when you wander toward the Adige River at sunset or grab morning coffee at the little bars that locals actually frequent. You know what’s brilliant? The opera season at Arena di Verona is practically on your doorstep, so you can stroll back to your room after performances instead of hunting for taxis.

The Rooms

The accommodations strike that perfect balance between historic charm and modern comfort — no small feat in a medieval Italian city. My room had these beautiful original details, like exposed beams and stone accents, but the bathroom was completely updated and the Wi-Fi actually worked reliably. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not always a given in European historic properties), and the windows open onto those narrow streets where you can hear church bells and the occasional Vespa puttering by. Air conditioning works well during Verona’s surprisingly warm summers, which honestly saved me during my July visit.

  The property was in an excellent location near very good bars and restaurants, but nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the main centre. Easy walk and transport to all the sights. The property was very clean and tidy with lots of facilities to make the stay comfortable.

  What could be improved: Wi-Fi non funzionante. La proprietaria ha fatto il possibile per venirci incontro sostituendo il modem, purtroppo non siamo riusciti ad utilizzare nemmeno quest’ultimo.
  Un intoppo con il riscaldamento dell’acqua dovuto alle dimensioni ridotte del boiler. La proprietaria ha effettuato un sopralluogo con l’idraulico per cercare di risolvere il problema.
