L’Angolino Nascosto Overview
First Impressions
Tucked away on a quiet side street just minutes from Verona’s historic center, L’Angolino Nascosto lives up to its name — it really is a “hidden corner” that you might walk right past if you weren’t looking for it. I actually love this about the place; while tour groups are shuffling around the main piazzas, you’re slipping into what feels like a local secret. The entrance is understated, almost residential, which makes sense given that this four-star boutique property sits in a converted historic building on Via Sant’Alessio. The property’s discreet charm is part of its appeal.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I mean about the location being special — you’re literally a five-minute walk from Juliet’s House and the Arena, but you’re staying in an actual neighborhood where Verona residents live their daily lives. There’s a little grocery store around the corner, and honestly, some of the best aperitivo spots are within a two-block radius. Couples seem to get this immediately (the staff mentioned they get tons of romantic getaways), probably because you can wander back from dinner through these medieval streets without fighting crowds. The neighborhood truly captures authentic local culture.
The Room Experience
My room was on the second floor — no elevator, just so you know — but the climb was worth it. The design strikes this nice balance between contemporary comfort and respecting the building’s age; you’ll find modern amenities but also original architectural details that remind you you’re sleeping in centuries-old walls. The bathroom was compact but well-designed, and the bed was genuinely comfortable. What surprised me was how quiet everything was, considering you’re still in the city center. The overall ambiance feels both historic and welcoming.
Service & Atmosphere
The staff here actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds basic but isn’t always the case. When I asked about dinner recommendations, I got specific suggestions based on what I was in the mood for, not just the standard tourist spots. The front desk operates more like a boutique hotel should — personal attention without being overly formal. There’s no restaurant on-site, but honestly, with Verona’s dining scene right outside your door, you don’t need one. The personalized service truly sets this property apart.
Why Guests Love It
Look, if you want a big hotel with a pool and room service, this isn’t your place. But if you’re the type of traveler who wants to feel like you’re staying in the real Verona while still having easy access to all the main sights, L’Angolino Nascosto nails it. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you experience how thoughtfully everything is done — from the location choice to the way they’ve renovated the space. It’s particularly great for couples because you get that intimate, romantic vibe without sacrificing the convenience of being centrally located. Just remember to pack light if you’re on an upper floor!

Marina was very pleasant and gave us great recommendations. She also surprised us with a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge. The location was perfect. Walking distance to everything and yet away from the crowds!
What could be improved: The location was perfect. No need for a car. Marina actually told us about a free parking area near the apartment.Susan from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (9/10)
Very handy location for walking across the bridge into Verona or taking the bus from outside. Very quiet within the apartment and felt very safe behind the front gate. Apartment very cool and comfortable with excellent facilities.
What could be improved: Didn’t worry us too much, but 2 flights of stairs ( one outside and one inside) the apartment.Susan from United States – 19 September 2024 (10/10)
Marina, the host, was very helpful and answered all of our questions. The location of this property is excellent. You can easily walk to many sites in Verona. The apartment is quiet, clean, and comfortable.
What could be improved: While the host left a parking pass for us, we were lucky to get the last spot on the street. I’m not sure where we would have gone if that was filled.Kenneth from United Kingdom – 13 September 2024 (10/10)
Marina our host was very helpful before arrival ensuring we had access codes and directions to the apartment. Room was clean and very spacious and more than adequate for our needs. There was everything we required in the apartment. Also on leaving Marina kindly booked us a taxi to the train station. Location of the apartment was very convenient to the centre just a few minutes walk would take you right into restaurants and shopping area, 20 mins to the Arena and only 2-3 mins from the funicular to the scenic viewpoint to see over Verona. Small mini market just 10 mins walk also.
Verona exceeded our expectations given a great base to explore we found it very relaxing away from the busy time in Florence. We took in an Opera and this was well worth the visit. Also 20 mins walk away is Giusti Gardens which were lovely. Would recommend Al Canton for a dinner as you are very well looked after by Fabio.
What could be improved: Unfortunately weather was bad for the Sunday afternoon but the apartment was a nice place to head back to and we dodged the showers to take in the funicular and restaurant up at the viewpoint which Marina had suggested. When you are from Northern Ireland you get used to dealing with the rain.Carmie from Australia – 31 August 2024 (10/10)
Apartment was fully furnished. Nothing missing. Complementary wine on arrival. Full laundry facilities. Room very spacious. Very clean. Full kitchen facilities – can do your own cooking if that's your thing. Close enough to Centre of town and far away from all the noise / traffic.
Plenty of eateries close by.
Perfect accommodation.
What could be improved: Nothing – wish we could of stayed longer.Kieron from Italy – 28 July 2023 (10/10)
