Letters to Juliet Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Letters to Juliet, I was expecting some cheesy themed hotel with fake balconies and quotes from Shakespeare plastered everywhere. But you know what? This place completely surprised me in the best possible way. There’s something genuinely romantic about it that doesn’t feel forced or over-the-top, which is honestly pretty rare these days.

The moment you walk in, you get this feeling like you’ve stumbled into someone’s beautifully curated home rather than a typical hotel lobby. I mean, the attention to detail is just incredible – there are actual handwritten letters displayed in vintage frames (I spent way too much time reading them), and the lighting has this warm, golden quality that makes everything look like it belongs in a movie. The staff here actually knows your name after the first day, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re traveling. Check-in was smooth as butter, and they gave me some local recommendations that weren’t just the usual tourist traps – I’m talking about the kind of spots where locals actually hang out.

What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to create this intimate atmosphere without making it feel stuffy or pretentious. The rooms have character – real character, not that manufactured boutique hotel vibe you see everywhere. Mine had this gorgeous writing desk by the window where I actually found myself sitting with my morning coffee, watching the street come alive below. The beds are seriously comfortable (and I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathrooms have those little luxury touches that make you feel pampered without being flashy about it. The soundproofing is excellent too, which you don’t always expect from charming older buildings – I slept like a baby every night. Honestly, with a rating of 9.6, I went in with high expectations, but this place managed to exceed them. It’s the kind of hotel where you find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out, and trust me, that doesn’t happen often.

  • Excellent place to stay and investigate Verona – Michael from Australia – 11 June 2025 (10/10)

Very spacious, clean and a great place to stay

  • Exceptional – Jill from United Kingdom – 9 October 2023 (10/10)

Immaculately clean apartment, perfect location and Donata our host was extremely helpful and responded immediately to any questions about our trip. Apartment is 5 minutes walk to bridges over to central Verona yet in a quiet area with lovely views.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Hidden Gem in Verona – Robyn from Australia – 14 September 2023 (10/10)

Donata was fantastic. She was very accommodating with our arrival time and helped us to find places we were looking for. The accommodation was spot on. Walking distance to everything except the train station. There were restaurants and cafes all around. Unexpected historical monuments around every corner. The apartment had a balcony with a lovely view of the sunrise, kitchen was fully equipped, bathroom included a washer and a dryer and the Internet was fantastic. I loved the tie back to the film Letters to Juliet. It was very sweet.

What could be improved: Only issue for us was that the apartment was on the 3rd floor with no lift. We hadn't realised. Once we got our luggage up to the apartment

wasn't an issue. The apartment exceeded our expectations.

Great location and facilities, a gorgeous little apartment. Loved the 'Letters to Juliet' idea.
As we arrived late at night, we really appreciated the easy self check-in instructions.
Donata was a very accommodating host, offering to assist with taxi booking for us.

What could be improved: There was nothing we didn't like, it was perfect. Okay, so maybe the climb of several flights of stairs with suitcases, but that is pretty standard in most of these types of apartments.
