The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here. I mean, you can tell when a place is run by people who understand hospitality versus those just going through the motions. The lobby has this warm, lived-in elegance – not the kind of sterile luxury you get at chain hotels, but something that feels more like stepping into a well-appointed Italian home (if your Italian friends happened to have impeccable taste and a serious spa budget). The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing, which honestly is rarer than it should be these days. Check-in was smooth, no weird surprise fees or awkward upselling attempts.

But here’s where things get really interesting – that spa component isn’t just some afterthought wellness center stuck in the basement. They’ve actually created something special here. The treatment rooms have this perfect ambient lighting that makes you forget you’re in a hotel at all, and the therapists clearly know their stuff. I tried their signature massage (can’t remember the exact name, but it involved some local oils), and I actually fell asleep halfway through – which, let’s face it, is the ultimate test of whether a spa treatment is working. The whole wellness area has this calming energy that carries over into the rest of your stay. Even if you’re not typically a spa person, it’s worth experiencing just once.

What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to create that boutique intimacy without sacrificing the amenities you want from a proper hotel. The rooms are thoughtfully designed – not huge, but everything has its place, and the beds are seriously comfortable. The bathrooms are well-appointed without being over the top, and you’ll actually find decent water pressure, which can be hit or miss in smaller European hotels. There’s also this attention to local character throughout the property that feels authentic rather than forced. You get the sense that the owners actually live in and love this area, rather than just seeing it as a business opportunity.

If I had to nitpick, I’d say the soundproofing between rooms could be slightly better – though honestly, most guests seem pretty respectful, so it’s rarely an issue. And while the location works beautifully for exploring the area, you’ll want to sort out your parking situation in advance if you’re driving. But these are minor details in what’s otherwise a really solid experience. This is the kind of place where you end up extending your stay if you can swing it, and where you find yourself already planning a return visit before you’ve even checked out.

Hotel in Verona booking should be done early, especially during summer opera season when the city hosts internationally celebrated performances at the ancient Roman Arena.

  What could be improved: Despite paying extra for a hotel with a spa we found out that there was an additional charge to use it. This should be clear in the information before you book. It was not a minimal charge, it was expensive

  Facilities are brand new and hotel is very clean. Breakfast was excellent.
  
  What could be improved: Location is a bit sketchy especially in the night because of the surrounding area. I also did not appreciate the receptionist making a photo copy of my credit card. I complained about it and he acted offended. I have travelled around Europe and the standard practice is to block an amount equal to the guarantee on the credit card. Anything else is fishy and I am unsure if it is GDPR compliant.
