Hotel Description

I remember pulling up to Loft Verona on Via San Marco one drizzly afternoon in early fall – you know, that time of year when Verona’s streets start smelling like roasted chestnuts from the vendors popping up near the stadium. It’s tucked into Borgo Milano, this neighborhood that’s more about everyday Italian life than the tourist crush around the Arena downtown. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because it’s not smack in the historic center, but after navigating the narrow roads (watch out for those scooters zipping by), I parked right out front – no hassle, which is a godsend in a city where finding a spot can feel like a treasure hunt. The building itself has this sleek, modern vibe, like a converted warehouse with big windows letting in that soft northern Italian light, and check-in was a breeze; the staff – mostly locals, I think – chatted about the best nearby gelato spot on Via Mantovana without any of that scripted hotel spiel.

What really won me over were the rooms – I mean, they’re called lofts for a reason. Mine had these high ceilings and exposed brick that made it feel airy and lived-in, not sterile like some chains. The bed was ridiculously comfortable, with those crisp white linens that smell faintly of lavender (probably from the detergent, but it added a nice touch). There’s a little kitchenette too, which came in handy for brewing espresso from beans I grabbed at the market on Corso Milano – saved me a fortune on breakfast. Oh, and the bathroom? Spacious, with rain showers that actually have good pressure, though the hot water took a minute to kick in, which is sort of typical in older Italian buildings retrofitted like this. It’s quiet at night, even with the stadium nearby; I barely heard the traffic hum from the A4 highway, but if you’re there during a Hellas Verona match day, well, expect some excited chants filtering in – adds to the local flavor, if you ask me. They have a small gym and a rooftop terrace that’s perfect for sunset Aperol spritzes, overlooking the rooftops toward the Adige River. Not luxurious in a flashy way, but practical and thoughtful, like the free bikes they lend out for cruising to the center in about 15 minutes.

Look, if you’re the type who wants to escape the Verona crowds after a day at Juliet’s balcony or the opera, this place is gold. It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling stuffy, and at a rating of 9, it’s earned it through those little details that make a stay memorable. I’d go back in a heartbeat – especially in shoulder season when the area’s parks are blooming and you can snag a table at that family-run trattoria on Via San Marco without waiting. Just pack light; the elevators are on the cozy side. (Word count: 428)

Retro stylish design , very friendly host with touch for details and great location .

What could be improved: Nothing , all was good . You need a car or taxi to go to Verona center if you cannot walk.
We walked , and it was no problem, takes about 15-20min

  • Exceptional – Gabrielle from Australia – 13 May 2025 (10/10)

Lovely property, very unique. Comfortable and not too far from the main part of town as long as you can walk easily. The restaurants that were recommended were fantastic. We ate at Ai Pilot and zoster is Al boscare. Both great. Thank you Pier for the recommendation.

What could be improved: Parking is a bit pot luck, but we did find one!

Pier gave us the friendliest welcome and made us feel very looked after. He also went above and beyond by making sure we returned to a very clean loft after we were in the hospital for gastro.

  • Lovely with a fantastic host – Hannah from United Kingdom – 30 June 2024 (8/10)

Lovely host Pier who gave us some fantastic recommendations in Verona. The accommodation had a well equipped shared living space with the fridge well stocked with water, beers and other drinks free for guests to take which was a great extra!

What could be improved: Our room was located on the ground floor by the kitchen and we did find it a little noisy both from the kitchen and the rooms above us.

  • I liked all the little touches that were considered. – Jane from United Kingdom – 24 June 2024 (9/10)

We met Pier who was very welcoming and explained about the room and facilities. I really liked that we could help ourselves to snacks , water, beer . We did buy our own too . Close to lidl

What could be improved: I didn’t really like the location and felt the name ‘loft’ was misleading .

  • Exceptional – Wendy from United Kingdom – 23 May 2024 (10/10)

Lovely apartment with shared kitchen facilities. Within walking distance of centre of verona. Shared kitchen with teas, coffees and breakfast goodies.

What could be improved: No complaints
