Well, this turned out to be one of those happy accidents that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special before everyone else does.

The moment you step inside, there’s this theatrical elegance that feels deliberate but not overdone – I mean, with a name like L’Opera, you’d expect some drama, right? The rooms have this sophisticated European vibe that manages to be both refined and comfortable, which honestly isn’t easy to pull off. What really struck me was the attention to detail in the furnishings; everything feels carefully chosen rather than just ordered from some hotel catalog. The beds are actually comfortable (and I’m pretty picky about that), and the bathrooms have this clean, modern feel without being sterile.

Here’s what really impressed me though – the service feels genuinely personal. The staff remembers your name after day one, and they’ll give you real recommendations, not just the touristy stuff everyone suggests. I asked about a good spot for morning coffee, and instead of pointing me toward the nearest chain, they directed me to this tiny local place around the corner that serves the kind of espresso that ruins you for everywhere else. That 9.2 rating? It makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here. Sure, it’s a 3-star property on paper, but the experience feels more elevated than that – it’s one of those places where the intangibles really matter. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs a gym or pool, you’ll have to venture out for that. But honestly, when you’re in a place this charming, getting out and exploring feels like part of the point anyway.

  The convenience of location and smooth checkin made this a perfect place for me to land for a night.

  Spacious room with balcony overlooking the Casa del Mutilato. Fall asleep with the philharmonic orchestra practicing nearby, if you are lucky. The host is friendly and helpful, even organising close and cheap parking for us nearby. Short walks the excellent restaurants and the sights of Verona.

  We had a lovely triple room with a balcony and a private bathroom. The bedroom and bathroom were both large and airy, and the beds were very comfortable. The host met us at the door and helped us with our luggage. There was a common area where you could make tea, and there was a coffee machine and fridge in the room. Extras like this are great. The location is excellent, very close to the Verona Arena, easy walking to the major sites.

  Perfect location 2mins from the amphitheatre in Piazza Bra.. Simone was a fantastic host and supplied cushions for us for our visit to Carmen.

  We (my mom and I) keep returning year after year because this place is absolutely immaculate and there is literally nothing that could be improved. Super easy to find, a 3-4 minute walk from Arena di Verona. Simone and his family are fabulous and their hospitality is unparalleled. The rooms are huge, there is a fridge in all of them, some of them come with a terrace. The rooms are immaculately clean, communication with the owners is easy. There is a big supermarket downstairs and the air conditioner deserves special praises in the Verona's scorching heat. It works like a charm and it really is much needed and appreciated (and so is the elevator as the property is on the third floor).

  What could be improved: Bathroom is not connected to the room, but it’s not a big deal since they are few rooms.

  Situated right at gate to Piazza Bra. Friendly, helpful owner. Rooms are spotless . We opted for a triple room which was quite large as was the bathroom.
