L’Ultima Rosa – Verona Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about L’Ultima Rosa – Verona, I thought it was going to be one of those overly romantic tourist traps that charge you double just because Shakespeare set a play here. But honestly? This little 3-star gem completely surprised me, and that 9.3 rating actually makes sense once you spend a night there.

The thing about this place is that it feels like someone’s stylish Italian aunt decided to open a boutique hotel. You know what I mean – everything’s got this effortless elegance without trying too hard. The rooms have these gorgeous vintage touches (think antique mirrors and soft linens that actually smell like lavender), but they’ve clearly invested in the stuff that matters – the beds are incredibly comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern without feeling sterile. I stayed there in late spring, and honestly, opening those shutters in the morning to let in that golden Verona light was pretty magical. The staff treats you like family too, which sounds cheesy but it’s true – they remember your name, ask about your day, and actually give you useful local recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the touristy spots.

What really sets L’Ultima Rosa apart is how it sits in the city. You’re not stuck in some generic hotel district – you’re actually in a neighborhood where locals live and work. I could walk to the main sights easily enough (Juliet’s balcony and all that), but I also stumbled onto these tiny osterie that I never would’ve found from a more central location. The mornings were particularly lovely – you hear church bells instead of traffic, and there’s this little café around the corner where the barista makes proper cappuccinos, not the tourist versions. Parking can be a bit tricky (it’s Italy, after all), but the hotel staff helped sort that out without any fuss. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs everything to be perfectly soundproofed, you might occasionally hear footsteps from upstairs – but honestly, it just adds to the authentic Italian apartment feel. I mean, you didn’t come to Verona to hide in a corporate hotel box, right? The breakfast spread was simple but done right – fresh pastries, local cheeses, and coffee that actually woke me up. By the end of my stay, I felt like I’d discovered something special that hasn’t been completely overrun by tourism yet, which is increasingly rare in these romantic Italian cities.

Reviews of L’Ultima Rosa – Verona

  • Christina from United Kingdom – 29 September 2024 (10/10)

Lots of space, a lovely balcony where we had breakfast in the morning, very comfortable bed, bathroom was clean and good shower and just overall nicely decorated.
We also like the location on a small side street, very authentic and about a 15 minute walk to the centre.
Kim the manager was very welcoming and helpful, great communication via WhatsApp. Our adaptors for chargers wouldnt fit so Kim directed us to some shops in the local area where we found some no problem. You need your mobile charged as it has the E-key for the appartment!

    What could be improved: Nothing!!

  • Мария from Bulgaria – 11 August 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is on amazing location near to the tourist area in Verona. It has an amazing view to the castle in Verona. And also has an amazing Italian atmosphere.

  • Zoia from Ukraine – 10 May 2024 (10/10)

One of the best apartments I’ve lived in. It’s very beautiful and stylish, nice furniture, packed with everything we needed. Cozy balcony with a view, perfect to have coffee in the morning. It felt like home! The location is perfect, near one of the most beautiful places in Verona and within walking distance to all the sightseeings. The host was amazing, very helpful and friendly. We didn’t want to leave 🙂

  • Celso from Portugal – 17 July 2023 (10/10)

It is very hard to find something that we didn't like so, my best answer would probably be: ALL!
From the location in a quite street away from the most crowded streets but just at 5min walking to Ponte Pietra, a flat that has that unique mix from a traditional local building fully equipped and renovated interior with excellent conditions. The host Kim is 5*, totally available to providing any help or support needed… In sum, a perfect flat that you will want to rent for sure when you visit the beautiful city of Verona with your family or friends.

What could be improved: Again an easy question to answer… I really can't find anything that I could point to post here so, I will answer: NONE!

  • Viktoriya from United States – 27 June 2023 (10/10)

Great location. Great balcony. Very clean. Responsive hosts. We really enjoyed our stay.

What could be improved: As a foreigner without an Italian phone I couldn’t get into the apartment without internet. But anyone w a working phone will really enjoy the remote lock ope ing function!
