Hotel Description
I remember pulling up to Lund Home after a quick train ride into Verona’s Porta Nuova station – it’s literally just a five-minute walk from there, which was a lifesaver with my heavy backpack. The hotel sits right on Piazza Renato Simoni, this bustling little square in the historical center that’s got that classic Italian vibe, you know, with locals zipping by on scooters and the faint smell of espresso drifting from nearby cafes. Honestly, I was a bit skeptical at first because the building looks like one of those understated townhouses – not flashy at all – but once I stepped inside, it felt welcoming, like crashing at a friend’s place rather than some sterile chain. Check-in was a breeze; the staff (mostly locals, I think) were chatty and handed over my key with tips on where to grab the best gelato on Via Mazzini, just a short stroll away. Oh, and parking – if you’re driving, forget it unless you snag a spot early; the piazza gets crowded, especially in summer when tourists flood in for the opera season at the Arena.
What really won me over were the rooms – mine was on the second floor, overlooking the square, with these high ceilings and wooden beams that screamed old Verona charm. The bed was comfy enough, though the pillows were a tad lumpy (I mean, for a 4-star, you’d hope for fluffier), but the bathroom had that sleek marble finish and a rain shower that made mornings feel luxurious. Breakfast was included, and it was solid – fresh croissants, local cheeses, and cappuccinos that actually tasted like they do in Italy, not the watered-down stuff you get elsewhere. You know what, though? The place isn’t dead quiet at night; there’s some street noise from the piazza, especially on weekends when folks linger at the bars nearby – think laughter and clinking glasses filtering up until around midnight. But that’s part of the appeal if you’re into that lively energy. I wandered out one evening to Castelvecchio, which is maybe a 10-minute walk along the Adige River – the path’s lit up nicely, and you can smell the river’s earthy scent mixed with blooming jasmine in spring. It’s not perfect; the Wi-Fi dipped a couple times, and the lobby could use more seating during busy check-out hours, but for the price, it felt authentic, not overpolished.
All in all, if you’re heading to Verona and want to feel like you’re actually living in the city rather than just visiting, Lund Home’s a smart pick. It’s close enough to the big sights – like Juliet’s balcony or the Arena – that you can ditch the bus and explore on foot, saving you time and hassle during peak season (well, avoid July if you hate crowds). I stayed three nights last May and left thinking, yeah, I’d book it again – it’s got that balance of comfort and real Italian grit that makes trips memorable. Just pack earplugs if you’re a light sleeper, and you’ll be golden.

Superb – Martin from Australia – 9 June 2025 (9/10)
The apartment is very spacious & in a great position, near the station & a 15 minute walk to the centre of Verona.
What could be improved: A minor point was that we had to move the microwave to plug it in as there was no power point nearby.Excellent apartment – Wendy from Australia – 17 May 2025 (9/10)
Close to train and bus, but also inside city walls.
Very spacious, with separate kitchen/lounge and bedroom. Nearby cafes.

Very spacious unit. Well appointed kitchen with an oven. Also had a washing machine. Walking distance from the train and bus station.
What could be improved: No airconditioning on a very hot day. Fans were ok. Would have been very uncomfortable without fans.Lovely area, food and weather, people very friendly, helpful and spoke English. – Robert from United Kingdom – 5 June 2024 (9/10)
This was our first experience of an Air B&B, and the apartment was really nice and so have no complaints. The location was ideal just a 9 min walk from the station. Easy access to bus routes, local shops. Just a 10 min walk to the Arena. We walked all around the old city which is full of history and beautiful old buildings.
Bus rides are only 1.50 euros for 90mins in any direction. Venice is just only 1 1/2hrs away by train all helping to make a great trip.Superb – Jane from United Kingdom – 20 May 2024 (9/10)

Thank you for letting me use your vacation home. I had a wonderful time at your lovely apartment. The house was very clean, with all the amenities I needed while still being spacious enough so that i didn’t feel cramped. The location on the town area was fantastic and made it easy to enjoy the area’s scenery and explore what Verona has to offer. Overall, I had a great experience and are already talking about our next visit.
