Marconi Rooms Loggia delle Erbe Overview
I stumbled across Marconi Rooms Loggia delle Erbe during one of those wandering sessions where you’re just trying to escape the tourist crowds, and honestly? It turned out to be exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for. The name gives it away if you know your Italian – you’re literally staying above one of those classic medieval loggias, which means you get this incredible sense of being tucked into the actual fabric of Verona rather than just visiting it.
What struck me first was how the building itself tells this whole story – you walk through these ancient archways at street level where locals are still doing their daily shopping (the herb market reference isn’t just decorative, there’s actual commerce happening below), then head upstairs to rooms that manage to feel both historic and liveable. The owners clearly get that balance between preserving character and making sure you can actually get a good night’s sleep. I mean, the walls are thick enough that you don’t hear every conversation from the piazza, but you still catch those lovely evening sounds of people finishing dinner and wandering home. The 8.1 rating makes complete sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be a luxury palace, but it absolutely nails what it is trying to be.
You know what I really appreciated? The staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about finding a decent place for breakfast that wasn’t full of tour groups, they sent me to this tiny café about two blocks away where the barista remembered my order by the third day. That’s the kind of local connection you can’t manufacture – it happens because the hotel is genuinely woven into the community rather than dropped on top of it. The three-star rating is spot-on too; you’re getting solid comfort and authentic atmosphere without paying for marble bathrooms you don’t really need. Actually, the simplicity works in its favor – the rooms let the location do the talking, and when you can step outside and immediately feel like you’re in the real pulse of the city rather than some sanitized hotel district, that’s worth more than fancy amenities. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re actually staying somewhere rather than just sleeping somewhere, this place gets it right.

Very helpful and kind host. The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The apartment was small for 6 but we didn’t spend a lot of time at home so it didn’t bother a lot. It was very well prepared for 6 and confortable for every one (4 single beds + 1 double bed). Recommend it a lot.
