You know, I stumbled upon MvA Madama Verona Apartments almost by accident last summer, right in the heart of Verona’s historical center on Corte San Giovanni in Foro – this tucked-away little courtyard off Corso Porta Borsari, where the ancient Roman gate still looms like it’s guarding the place. I mean, arriving by car was a bit of a hassle – parking in Verona’s old town is notoriously tricky, with those narrow cobblestone streets that twist like a maze, and you end up circling for a spot in one of the nearby lots like Parcheggio Cittadella (honestly, just walk or taxi in if you can). But once I pushed open that heavy wooden door, it felt like stepping into a secret slice of old Verona. The building’s got this weathered stone facade that smells faintly of damp earth after a rain, and my apartment was up a flight of creaky stairs – no elevator, mind you, which might be a drag if you’re hauling heavy bags, but it adds to the charm, sort of like living in one of those Renaissance palazzos.

What really won me over was how these apartments blend that authentic Italian apartment vibe with just enough modern perks to make you feel at home without overdoing it. Mine had a kitchenette stocked with basics – fresh espresso pods and a fridge big enough for market finds from Piazza delle Erbe, which is literally a five-minute stroll away, past the bustling fruit stalls and that iconic Madonna Verona fountain. The bed was plush, with linens that felt crisp and cool against the summer heat, and the bathroom had one of those rain showers that make you linger. Oh, and the Wi-Fi was surprisingly zippy for such an old building – I streamed a whole opera from the Arena without a hitch (speaking of which, book tickets early if you’re here in July or August; the crowds spill out onto the streets, and the distant cheers filter in through the windows at night, but it’s more magical than noisy). There was even a small balcony overlooking the courtyard, where I’d sip morning coffee listening to the bells from the nearby San Giovanni in Foro church – a peaceful start before diving into the day. Well, one minor gripe: the air conditioning hummed a tad loudly, but in Verona’s sticky humidity, you’ll forgive it.

All in all, if you’re the type who wants to wake up and wander straight to Juliet’s balcony (it’s just around the corner on Via Cappello) or grab gelato from that hidden spot on Via Stella, this place is gold. It’s not some sterile hotel chain; it’s like borrowing a local’s pied-à-terre, with self-check-in that’s a breeze via app (no awkward front desk waits). I spent a week there feeling like I truly belonged in Verona – dodging Vespas on Via Mazzini for shopping, then retreating to my cozy nook. At a solid 9.3 rating and four stars, it’s worth every euro, especially off-season when the streets quiet down after 10 p.m. and you can hear the Adige River murmuring in the distance.   Wow, such a beautiful place! we loved our stay. Eleonora was very kind and lovely person. I couldn't meet her but our communication was more than perfect. She helped us to store our baggage(Thanks again!!). Room was spacious and so pretty- everywhere in this property is so charming and nice. And breakfast was so good(another location, in restaurant)!!   location close to everything but on a quiet street, beautiful interior, exceptional style, communication with staff was on top level, Madam Eleanora was really helpful, bathroom necessities as well as tea, coffee and even sweets were provided
