NH Collection Palazzo Verona Overview
You know what struck me first about NH Collection Palazzo Verona? The moment you walk through those doors, you realize this isn’t just another converted historic building trying too hard to be fancy. This place actually gets the balance right between old-world Italian elegance and modern comfort – and honestly, that’s harder to pull off than you’d think.
The palazzo itself has this incredible sense of gravitas without being stuffy about it. I mean, you’re literally staying in a piece of Verona’s history, but they’ve managed to weave in contemporary touches that don’t feel jarring or out of place. The rooms are spacious in that satisfying European way – high ceilings, quality linens, and marble bathrooms that make you want to take longer showers than necessary. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything felt, even though you’re right in the heart of the city. The thick walls do their job, trust me on this one.
The staff here actually knows their stuff – not in that rehearsed, scripted way you get at some five-star places, but genuinely helpful local knowledge. They pointed me toward this tiny osteria about a ten-minute walk away that I never would have found otherwise, and it ended up being one of my best meals in the city. The concierge team seems to have real relationships with local businesses rather than just pushing the usual tourist traps. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (it’s Italy, after all), but they handle the logistics smoothly enough that you don’t have to stress about it. The breakfast spread is solid – proper Italian coffee, fresh pastries, and they actually have decent options if you’re not big on sweet breakfasts. I noticed they pay attention to seasonal ingredients too, which is a nice touch that speaks to their overall approach. The 8.8 rating makes perfect sense when you experience the place – it’s the kind of hotel that delivers on the promises without any unpleasant surprises lurking around the corners. Everything just works the way it should, from the efficient check-in to the perfectly regulated room temperature to the way housekeeping somehow manages to clean around your stuff without moving anything.

Breakfast was a delight.
What could be improved: The view from our junior suite was a little disappointing, but very conscious of the fact the Hotel is tight within the cities buildings so can't be helped.Nouf from United Arab Emirates – 2 February 2025 (9/10)

Great location near the Porta Borsari on the edge of the old town. Actually stayed an extra two nights due to the Gatwick mess-up. The charming reception staff were very accommodating about this, and even up-graded us to a suite. We also got a discount for a minor plumbing problem – very generous.
Breakfast was fine – uncrowded with excellent food and service, especially from Reya. Our rooms were a good size – in fact the suite was enormous (perhaps a little chilly as a consequence), with decent facilities, though hard to find much to watch on the TV – often the way though! Public areas are very smart, and clean, and the decor understated in many ways.
This is not a cheap hotel by any means, but Verona is an expensive city, and the pricing was much as expected. Very impressed with the NH group, and will consider staying in other properties run by this chain.
What could be improved: Suite was a little chilly – such a large room! Nothing else not to like….
