NH Collection Palazzo Verona Overview
First Impressions
Walking into NH Collection Palazzo Verona feels like stepping into a piece of Verona’s aristocratic past — but with all the modern touches you actually want. This five-star property sits right in the Città Antica district, and I mean right in the heart of everything. You’re literally surrounded by centuries-old palazzos and cobblestone streets that lead straight to Juliet’s balcony and the Arena. The building itself has this elegant, understated luxury that doesn’t try too hard — which honestly makes it feel more authentic than some of the flashier places I’ve stayed.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about the location — you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in Verona’s historic center. The Arena di Verona is maybe a five-minute stroll, and you’ll find yourself wandering past those gorgeous medieval buildings and stumbling onto Piazza delle Erbe almost by accident. What’s really smart is that while you’re in the thick of things, Via Adua itself is quiet enough that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. Couples especially seem to get this — they’ve rated the location 9.7, and honestly, I can see why.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of Italian elegance and modern comfort. The beds here are genuinely exceptional — I mean, I’m usually a light sleeper, but I slept like a rock every night. The design feels sophisticated without being stuffy, with rich fabrics and marble accents that remind you you’re in a palazzo. The bathrooms are spacious (which isn’t always a given in historic Italian buildings), and the whole space just feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter luxury.
Dining and Breakfast
The food situation here is actually impressive — and that’s saying something in a city where you’re surrounded by incredible Venetian cuisine. The restaurant serves dishes that feel both refined and rooted in local tradition. But honestly, the breakfast might be the real star. They’ve got this extensive buffet that covers everything from traditional Italian pastries to American options, plus they’re really good about dietary restrictions — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free options that don’t feel like afterthoughts. I found myself lingering over breakfast way longer than usual, partly because the food was great and partly because the morning atmosphere in the dining area is just lovely.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both grand and welcoming. The staff genuinely knows the city and can point you toward things you might not find on your own — little wine bars tucked away in side streets, the best gelato spots, when to visit the Arena to avoid crowds. There’s also parking available right at the hotel, which is honestly a huge relief if you’re driving in Verona’s historic center. You know what though? The real magic is just being able to step out your door and immediately be part of this incredible medieval city, then come back to genuine luxury and comfort at the end of the day.

Breakfast was a delight.

Great location near the Porta Borsari on the edge of the old town. Actually stayed an extra two nights due to the Gatwick mess-up. The charming reception staff were very accommodating about this, and even up-graded us to a suite. We also got a discount for a minor plumbing problem – very generous.
Breakfast was fine – uncrowded with excellent food and service, especially from Reya. Our rooms were a good size – in fact the suite was enormous (perhaps a little chilly as a consequence), with decent facilities, though hard to find much to watch on the TV – often the way though! Public areas are very smart, and clean, and the decor understated in many ways.
This is not a cheap hotel by any means, but Verona is an expensive city, and the pricing was much as expected. Very impressed with the NH group, and will consider staying in other properties run by this chain.
What could be improved: Suite was a little chilly – such a large room! Nothing else not to like….
