Opera & expo Verona – Tosca Overview
You know what really surprised me about Opera & expo Verona – Tosca? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need. I mean, with a name like that, you’d expect it to be all opera-themed and dramatic, but honestly it’s more subtle than that – which I actually appreciate. The whole place has this understated Italian charm that feels authentic rather than touristy, if that makes sense.
The location is pretty smart too. You’re close enough to Verona‘s main action without being right in the thick of all the crowds and street noise that can drive you crazy during peak season. I stayed there in late spring, and while the city center was absolutely packed with tourists doing the whole Romeo and Juliet thing, this area felt more… I don’t know, livable? You can actually walk around without constantly dodging tour groups, and there are some really good local spots nearby that most visitors never find. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned I’d discovered this little osteria just two blocks away – apparently not many guests venture that direction, which is honestly their loss.
What really won me over was the attention to small details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The shower pressure is excellent (you’d be amazed how many Italian hotels mess this up), and they’ve got those heavy curtains that actually block out light if you want to sleep in. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out – there’s always somewhere to put your stuff without feeling cluttered. And the breakfast, while not elaborate, hits all the right notes. Fresh pastries, decent coffee, and they don’t rush you out even if you show up closer to the end time. I spent quite a few mornings just sitting there planning my day while watching locals hurry past the windows on their way to work. There’s something really satisfying about that slower pace when you’re traveling, you know? The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me – it’s the kind of place that does the fundamentals really well without any flashy extras you don’t actually need. Perfect for travelers who want to experience Verona like a temporary resident rather than just another tourist checking boxes.
To book a hotel in Verona during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this romantic city draws visitors eager to experience its Shakespearean heritage and medieval charm.

What could be improved: The location.Adrianne from Australia – 12 September 2024 (9/10)
We stayed for 4 nights. Bus is convenient to town although not as frequent at night time. Apartment was very comfortable and well equipped to cook a few meals and enjoy the terrace after a few busy days. Staff were very helpful and great english wh8ch made checking in very easy. Close to supermarket and not difficult to find a car park.
Kate from United Kingdom – 8 June 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was well equipped and very clean. It was close to bus stops to the train station and a few options for grocery shopping.
The hosts were very helpful with prompt responses to our questions.Artango from Ireland – 19 March 2024 (9/10)
Spacious, organised and very home-like. Owners were very kind and accommodating to our needs. Very likely to return to this place if we ever return to Verona.
Νεκταρία from Greece – 16 October 2023 (9/10)
We had a great stay.
The apartment was really clean and cozy.
It's located 50 minutes from centre on foot but the location is exceptional if you take into consideration that the bus station is next to the house and the bus takes you to the centre in 20 minutes.
I definitely recommend it for your stay in Verona.Jelic from Montenegro – 25 September 2023 (9/10)
The owner was very kind and at our service. He helped us with finding bus lines, markets, good restaurants. The appartment was cosy, spacy, very clean. I loved the big terrace, nice kitchen, very comfortable bed, big fridge and dishes for preparing food. Highly reccomendation! The location is at the middle way from main bus and train station to the centre, which was perfect for us.
Richard from Czech Republic – 28 May 2023 (9/10)

Daniela from Czech Republic – 25 February 2023 (9/10)

Yilmaz from Turkey – 1 October 2022 (9/10)
rooms are fresh and clean
What could be improved: the cooking area is very old, the ventilation is not sufficient. the light in the kitchen is very low. The home environment was cold at the end of September. It gets cold at night.Lili from United States – 11 July 2022 (9/10)
