Palazzo Borgo Trento – Royal Welcome Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Palazzo Borgo Trento – Royal Welcome? The name sounds way more grandiose than what you actually get – and honestly, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I mean, when I first walked in, I was expecting some over-the-top palazzo experience, but instead found this refreshingly unpretentious 3-star spot that just… works.

The whole “royal welcome” thing is a bit much (they’re friendly enough, but let’s not go crazy), but the staff genuinely seems to care about getting the basics right. Check-in was smooth, no weird surprise fees, and they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just tourist traps. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing Instagram-worthy, but the beds are decent and the AC works properly, which honestly matters more than fancy marble everywhere. I appreciated that the walls weren’t paper-thin either; you can hear some hallway noise if people are being loud, but it’s not the kind of place where you know your neighbor’s entire phone conversation.

What I really liked was how it sits in Verona – you’re close enough to walk to the main sights without being right in the thick of all the tour group chaos. The area has that lived-in feel where you’ll see actual locals doing their grocery shopping, not just souvenir shops every ten feet. Parking can be a bit tricky (like anywhere in the historic center), but they gave me clear directions to a nearby lot that wasn’t outrageously expensive. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s solidly above average without pretending to be something it’s not. I’ve stayed in flashier places that left me more frustrated because they promised the moon and delivered room service menus with typos. This place just does what it says it’ll do, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re more interested in exploring the city than hanging out in your hotel room anyway.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Verona at least two months ahead for major events like opera performances and wine festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular romantic sites.

Reviews of Palazzo Borgo Trento – Royal Welcome

  • Bolia from United Kingdom – 3 January 2025 (8/10)

Great space and well equipped for a nice and cozy stay. Felt like a home away from home.

What could be improved: The location isn’t the best as there’s not much happening in the area. But good transport links

  • Lien from Belgium – 4 November 2024 (9/10)

    Very clean and new accomodation!

What could be improved: The only minpoint about this accomodation might be the noise from the streets that was quite loud during the night

  • Gladys from United Kingdom – 14 October 2024 (9/10)

Value for money, large room and very nice bathroom/toilet huge and clean.

What could be improved: I am from UK and in UK, duvets have duvet covers, apparently (not sure if that is how they do it in Verona) their duvet has no cover but you have a top sheet to layer it. I was told that the duvets are new or washed for every new check ins, which I find a bit strange. Also, I wish the bedsheets are fitted so it stays in place. But overall, it was a really nice accomodation/apartment, large room and really nice toilet/bathroom and has mini kitchen with cooker, kettle, microwave and fridge.

  • Saskia from Germany – 7 October 2024 (8/10)

Clean, nice kitchenette, good service, easy check-in, 30 minutes to the city center by foot, there's an aldi nearby, stable Wi-Fi, toiletries and cleaning kit provided

What could be improved: Very loud because it's located next to a busy street, only 2 rolls of toilet paper for 3 people during a week-long stay, no drying towel for the dishes, would have been nice to have a broom as the floor got a little dirty after a while, weird sheets

  • Aisling from Ireland – 23 September 2024 (9/10)

Very clean and comfortable studio apartment, well equipped. Close to the centre (15ish mins walk) and on a quiet street.

What could be improved: Emergency exit light very bright at night, we purchased eye masks for sleep. The air conditioning was also locked to 22°C which was still very warm.

  • Roisín from Ireland – 21 May 2024 (8/10)

Staff were nice very big rooms and good space

What could be improved: Seen the cleaner just dust down the blanket and put it back on the bed after the guest left a little unhygienic, blankets smelt bad

  • Sala from Albania – 10 May 2024 (7/10)

The apartment was perfect. Everything clean.

  • David from Australia – 3 October 2023 (8/10)

    Clean and very secure

What could be improved: Aircon temperature locked at minimum 20 degrees . Noisy traffic on corner. Some taps work opposite so missed shower first day before working out the problem.

  • Zoe from Australia – 17 September 2023 (9/10)

The apartment looked brand new and was quite spacious.

What could be improved: The location was not very central.

  • Bill from United Kingdom – 11 September 2023 (7/10)

This is a very comfortable newly renovated apartment. It has aircon and good wifi. There is a large shower room and a large bed, sitting, kitchenette.
The staff are remote and communicate on the phone and by whatsap. They were communicative and helpful even helping with restaurant recommendations and taxis.

What could be improved: The apartment is located out of centre of Verona but there is a bus service into town which takes about ten minutes. The building is at a junction of two busy roads which results in some traffic noise although this subsides at night. The worst aspect of the location is it sits next to a petrol filling station which some the apartment balconies overlook.
