Palazzo Cavalli Pasquini Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Palazzo Cavalli Pasquini, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from a 3-star place in Venice. But you know what? Sometimes these historic palazzos surprise you in ways the fancy chain hotels just can’t match. There’s something about staying in an actual Venetian palace (even if it’s not the most polished one) that makes you feel like you’re part of the city’s story rather than just passing through it.
The building itself has that worn-in elegance that’s so typically Venetian – I mean, we’re talking about a structure that’s probably seen centuries of history unfold right outside its windows. The rooms have this authentic palazzo feel with high ceilings and original architectural details, though honestly, don’t expect everything to be perfectly modern. The bathrooms are functional but clearly from an earlier renovation, and you might hear your neighbors walking around (those old floors have character, let’s put it that way). What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this tiny bacaro for cicchetti that I never would’ve found on my own, tucked away down an alley that doesn’t even show up properly on Google Maps.
The location works well if you’re comfortable navigating Venice on foot, which honestly is the only way to really experience the city anyway. You’re not right on the Grand Canal with the tourist crowds, but you’re close enough to everything that matters – actually, I found it refreshing to step outside and not immediately be surrounded by people taking selfies with gelato. The nearest vaporetto stop is a decent walk, but once you get the hang of the water bus system, it’s really not a big deal. I stayed there in late spring when the weather was perfect for wandering, and I’d come back in the evenings to find the little campo nearby had this lovely quiet energy – locals chatting, kids playing, that sort of authentic Venice moment you’re always hoping to stumble across. The 7.4 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury by any stretch, but there’s something genuinely charming about the place that makes up for the quirks. If you’re the type of traveler who values character over perfection and doesn’t mind that the Wi-Fi cuts out occasionally or that the shower pressure isn’t amazing, you’ll probably love the authentic palazzo experience here.
Early hotels booking in Verona requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary balconies, medieval squares, and Italian cultural attractions.

It was clean and welcoming and in a very central location
What could be improved: There wasn’t anything we didn’t likeCostanza from Sweden – 24 July 2024 (8/10)
Really great location. The flat had a nice design and was well furnished for a short stay (e.g. coffee machine, tea bags and kettle…). The beds were comfortable. Picking up the keys was really easy. We had a great stay!
What could be improved: I didn't realise from the images that there is no door separating the shower from the bedroom, and that the wall separating the bedroom and the living room space does not reach the ceiling. So this flat is best for 2 people or for travelling with family/very close friends! Luckily this wasn't a problem for us and we had a great stay!Meskoski from North Macedonia – 24 September 2023 (7/10)
The city is wonderful.
What could be improved: The apartment is nice has all the required details all do it can provide more towels for longer stays. The light in the apartment is low and it doesn't have a window. WiFi connection is very good.Graham from United Kingdom – 4 July 2023 (7/10)
Position was excellent for the arena.
What could be improved: Kitchen equipment was in a very poor condition. It would have been useful to have a cloth to wipe kitchen area after cooking.Sofiya from Germany – 30 October 2022 (8/10)
The location is perfect. Historical house in the historical city center, but still quiet. Walking distance from every attraction in Verona. The room was styled modern, had a coffee machine and kettle with tea.
What could be improved: It is more like an AirBnB, and not a hotel which was not clear from Booking description and not mentioned before in hotel communication. Therefore, when we arrived earlier we could not leave the suitcase anywhere. Would have been nice to see it explicitly stated on the page, so we could plan the trip better.
There were a lot of broken items in the room: the blinds didn’t close, the radiator was leaking water and you could feel the springs in the bed.Brendan from Ireland – 4 October 2022 (7/10)
Location great
What could be improved: Room does not have much daylight as window is small and high up. But there is enough light. But overall great value.Nadezda from Italy – 20 August 2022 (8/10)
good appattment, all facilities, very close to Arena, just 5 min walk,
What could be improved: nothingЕкатерина from Russia – 1 August 2022 (6/10)
Location is just perfect. It was easy to reach our manager when we didn’t know how to open the door at first time. Really clean, really nice building!
What could be improved: Wi-Fi is so poor. My husband should work at the property for some
hours but the connection was unstable or didn’t work at all. Same with Netflix in the apartment – because of the connection it didn’t work. So if you not just a tourist but also a smart worker – not the best choice.
Also we didn’t have toothpaste in the apartment and we had to buy it in the storeMartina from Argentina – 19 July 2022 (7/10)
ubicación, estructura histórica
What could be improved: escasa iluminación. el apartamento no estaba completamente equipado, por ejemplo. teniamos solo 1 cuchilloDaniel from United Kingdom – 6 May 2022 (7/10)
Great location, short walk to main sights on a quiet road, near shops and cafes.
Spacious room, fairly well equipped.
What could be improved: Should be more toilet roll for longer stays
Tea Towel needed for kitchen
Coffee maker didn't work and would have liked a kettle to make tea
Host disappeared for an hour as our arrival neared. There was an issue getting tickets so we were 20mins later getting to the property. Host new this but hadn't read the messages and then we couldn't get hold of them for a while after we arrived
Lack of personal touches in the property, no information about the area, which is very rare these days
