Palazzo Confalonieri da Lisca Overview
You know what struck me first about Palazzo Confalonieri da Lisca? The moment you walk through those heavy wooden doors, there’s this immediate shift from the bustling energy of the street to something almost reverent. I mean, you can literally feel the history in the walls – and I’m usually pretty skeptical about places that lean too hard into the “historic charm” thing, but this one actually delivers.
The palazzo itself is just stunning, honestly. We’re talking genuine Renaissance architecture here, not some modern interpretation trying too hard to look old. The frescoed ceilings in the common areas made me stop mid-conversation more than once, and the original stone staircases have this worn smoothness that only comes from centuries of use. What I really appreciated, though, were the thoughtful modern touches – the Wi-Fi actually works everywhere (miracle!), and they’ve managed to retrofit proper climate control without ruining the aesthetic. The rooms maintain that authentic Italian elegance but with creature comforts that matter, like blackout curtains that actually block light and water pressure that doesn’t make you question your life choices.
The staff here gets it – they’re not hovering, but they somehow always appear exactly when you need them. During check-in, the gentleman at the front desk (I think his name was Marco?) gave us these incredibly detailed walking directions to nearby restaurants, complete with warnings about tourist traps to avoid. That 9.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. The attention to detail is everywhere – fresh flowers in the hallways, perfectly pressed linens, and this subtle lavender scent in the elevator that’s pleasant without being overwhelming. I stayed during what locals told me was a particularly busy period, but the palazzo never felt chaotic or overcrowded. The courtyard becomes this peaceful retreat in the evenings, and you can actually have a conversation without shouting over other guests. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentically Italian without sacrificing modern comfort, and you don’t mind paying a bit more for genuine quality over flashy amenities, this palazzo is absolutely worth it.
To book a hotel in Verona during major cultural festivals, travelers need early planning as this romantic city draws visitors eager to experience its Shakespearean heritage and medieval charm.

Stunning building, extremely clean, great bathrooms & perfect location to explore Verona. On a busy pedestrianised street so a little noisy on a Saturday night but not a big deal overall.

Charlotte from United Kingdom – 22 March 2025 (10/10)
Perfect location close to the piazzas and shops, close enough to the station (25 minute walk) but also a taxi was only €12 if you have suitcases & luggage. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, super modern & exceptionally clean. Lovely touches including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and tea and coffee facilities. Massive thank you to our super helpful host who was easily contacted via watsapp and helped us with our bags & arranging a taxi when we checked out. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Verona.
What could be improved: Nothing – it was perfect!Ecaterina from Moldova – 19 March 2025 (10/10)
We liked everything about its location and the apartment itself. You have all that you need around, even local store with food. All facilities in the apartment work and are more than enough.
What could be improved: The only thing was that sofa for our kids was way too high, but in case you travel without kids, that would even not noticed.Yusimig from United States – 8 January 2025 (10/10)
Centrally located and fully renovated. It was a pleasure to be in this property. The furniture and appliances are new. The decor is nice and they pay attention to details from the lighting to the coffee capsules. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. The building per se has been renovated too. This property was a really nice find.
What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was perfect.
