Palazzo Regina Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Palazzo Regina on Via Nicola Mazza, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in Verona’s historic heart. This three-star property occupies a beautifully restored building that feels authentically Italian without trying too hard — you know what I mean? The entrance has that understated elegance that makes you feel like you’ve discovered a local secret rather than just another tourist hotel.

Location & Getting Around

Honestly, the location here is pretty fantastic — there’s a reason couples rate it so highly for romantic getaways. You’re positioned perfectly in what locals consider one of Verona’s best neighborhoods, with an impressive location score that actually reflects reality on the ground. The Arena di Verona is an easy stroll away, and you can wander to Juliet’s House without breaking a sweat. What I really appreciate is that Palazzo Regina offers private parking on-site, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Verona’s narrow streets with a rental car will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

The Rooms

The accommodations strike that sweet spot between comfort and character that’s harder to find than you’d think. My room had high ceilings and period details that reminded me I was staying in a genuine palazzo, but the amenities were thoroughly modern. The beds are actually comfortable — not just passable — and the bathrooms are well-appointed without feeling cramped. You’ll find thoughtful touches throughout that show someone cares about the guest experience, from quality linens to proper lighting for reading.

Exploring the Neighborhood

What makes this location work so well is how it puts you right in the rhythm of daily Veronese life. Step outside and you’re surrounded by authentic cafes where locals grab their morning espresso, not just tourist traps. The nearby streets are lined with shops that actually serve the neighborhood, and you’ll find yourself naturally drawn into the evening passeggiata along the pedestrian areas. I mean, you’re close enough to all the major sights that you can easily walk everywhere, but far enough from the main tourist crush that you can actually breathe.

Why Guests Love It

People keep coming back to Palazzo Regina because it delivers on the promise of an authentic Verona experience without sacrificing comfort. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping you make the most of your stay — they’ll point you toward the best local restaurants and help you avoid the obvious tourist mistakes. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about staying in a real palazzo in one of Italy’s most beautiful cities, knowing you have secure parking and a comfortable base to return to after long days of exploring. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re living in Verona rather than just visiting it.

Reviews of Palazzo Regina

  • Gabriela from Hungary – 13 October 2024 (7/10)

Stylish and modern flat. Good location

What could be improved: There was not toilet paper for one night and almost half day even though we asked it to the owner. The owner was confused saying that I make a party when I was not even arriving yet. The share bathroom was super wet because there's no carpet or mop.

  • Eva from Slovenia – 28 September 2024 (8/10)

Location, bed was comfortable, clean and smells good.

What could be improved: Walls are so thin, that you can hear everything. Poor lightening. Only one garage for all guests.

  • Yentl from Belgium – 25 September 2024 (8/10)

    Amazing Location! Nice price-quality

  • Miroslav from Australia – 23 August 2024 (8/10)

Location is like 10-15 min. by walk to city center, small clean room, easy for one night stay, good pizza on corner and bus stop literally behind the building

What could be improved: Share bathroom, manager of the property dont speak english (based on communication) and mostly due to our death in my family it was only one property who did not cancelled my booking, however I paid for non-refundable but others was booked like that as well

  • Martin from Slovakia – 4 August 2024 (8/10)

very close to the city.convenient with garage.spacious.

What could be improved: the sofa in the living room eeds to be maybe changed for a new one ( when open for sleeping the matrasses were worn out..)

  • Anna from Germany – 3 August 2024 (8/10)

Very nice location, easily reachable by bus from the train station even late at night. Check-in was very simple. Restaurants are nearby but it's not a touristy neighbourhood even though it's a short walk from the centre of town. Recommend!

What could be improved: No complaints

  • Danai from Greece – 12 April 2024 (9/10)

I just want to say that everything was great , especially for the price. I really appreciated the fact that the bathroom was shared only by two rooms and It was always clean. Also the Palazzo Regina was near the center and only 3 to 4 minutes away were bars with young students , so coming home at night was never a problem

  • Abeer from Bahrain – 3 October 2023 (7/10)

    Location is great

What could be improved: Room is small
    Bed is not comfortable

  • Fation from Kosovo – 26 September 2023 (9/10)

The place was really classic it gave a old Italian house energy. The place had a great location too everything was reachable on foot even though i could have taken the bus too since it was going on that road

What could be improved: The rooms had thin walls so the neighbor's were a bit loud late in the night but it's the city of love so for me personally it was not a deal breaker.

  • Marie from Switzerland – 10 April 2023 (9/10)

The jacuzzi was awesome. Also, the owner was so helpful and there's a garage in the place. Upon check out, he let us leave the car as we explored Verona.
