Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first walked up to Palazzo Romeo, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages, and this little gem absolutely proved that point. The building itself has this wonderful old-world charm that you don’t see much anymore, with these gorgeous architectural details that make you slow down and actually look up from your phone for once. You know what I mean? It’s one of those places where someone clearly cared about getting the details right.

The staff here – and I mean this – genuinely seem happy to see you walk through the door. Not that forced hospitality smile you get at some places, but actual warmth. During check-in, the front desk guy (I think his name was Marco) was chatting about local restaurants like we were old friends, and honestly, his recommendations were spot-on. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully comfortable – nothing flashy, but everything works exactly as it should. The beds are actually good, which is rarer than it should be, and the bathrooms have this nice mix of modern functionality with some classic touches that fit the building’s character. I stayed on the third floor and it was perfectly quiet at night, though I imagine the street-facing rooms might catch a bit more noise during busy periods.

What really struck me about Palazzo Romeo was how it manages to feel both intimate and professional at the same time. You’re not just another room number here – the housekeeping staff remembered my preference for extra towels by day two, and the concierge (well, sort of a concierge – more like a really knowledgeable local) had great insights about timing visits to avoid crowds. The common areas have this lived-in elegance that makes you want to linger over morning coffee instead of rushing out. There’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be everything to everyone but does what it does really well. The 8.6 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to compete with the luxury giants, but for what it offers, it delivers consistently and with genuine care. If you’re looking for a place that feels more like staying with knowledgeable locals than checking into a corporate hotel, this is definitely worth considering.

  Very big and comfortable place, good location and very good customer service. Good A/C on both floors.
  
  What could be improved: If windows were opens, it was very noisy due to the street traffic, with the windows closed you wouldn’t hear a thing though.

  An impeccable modern apartment- spotlessly clean with all the things you could need for a comfortable stay – a real treat to stay here- it was possible to walk everywhere from here with a supermarket and bakery seconds away to get provisions

  What could be improved: Minor things: no shampoo and no complimentary tea, bathroom floor got wet after taking a shower and there was nothing to dry it with.
