Hotel Description

You know, when I first rolled into Verona last summer, I was a bit skeptical about booking a place like PARISI VERONA Centro Storico—it’s tucked away on this quirky little street called Interrato dell’Acqua Morta, right in the heart of the historic center, but honestly, it’s one of those spots that feels like a hidden gem once you find it. I mean, the address says “interno 4” on the second floor, so you’re climbing a couple of flights of stairs—no elevator, which could be a drag if you’re hauling heavy luggage after a long train ride from Milan. But hey, that’s old Verona for you; everything’s got that charming, slightly worn-in vibe from centuries of foot traffic. I arrived around dusk, and the street was buzzing with locals grabbing aperitivi at nearby bars—think the smell of fresh espresso mixing with the faint river scent from the Adige just a block away. Parking? Forget it if you’re driving; I left my rental at a garage near Ponte Nuovo and walked the five minutes over, dodging scooters and gelato-wielding tourists. Check-in was a breeze, though—the owner, this friendly guy named Marco (or was it Matteo? Anyway, super welcoming), handed over the keys with a quick rundown of the best nearby spots, like how to avoid the crowds at Juliet’s House by going early morning.

What really won me over was how the place nails that authentic Verona feel without trying too hard—it’s a 3-star setup, but with an 8.8 rating that totally checks out. My room was cozy, sort of like staying in a renovated apartment: high ceilings with exposed beams, a comfy bed that didn’t creak (thank goodness, after all those cobblestone walks), and a little balcony overlooking the alley where you could hear distant church bells from Santa Anastasia chiming in the evenings. No frills like a pool or spa—well, it’s not that kind of hotel—but the Wi-Fi was solid for streaming, and the bathroom had one of those rain showers that make you linger. Breakfast was simple but spot-on: croissants, yogurt, and cappuccino served in a small common area downstairs, nothing fancy, but it fueled me up for wandering to the Arena di Verona, which is literally a 10-minute stroll away. Oh, and a minor gripe—the walls are a tad thin, so if there’s a lively group next door, you might hear snippets of conversation late at night, especially during opera season when the city’s packed. But overall, it felt personal, you know? Like crashing at a friend’s place rather than some sterile chain.

If you’re heading to Verona for the romance or the history—maybe catching a show at the Arena or just meandering through Piazza delle Erbe— this spot’s a smart pick. It’s quiet enough in the off-hours to recharge, but steps from everything that matters, like that hidden trattoria on Via Sottoriva with the best risotto (trust me, go for lunch). Sure, it’s not luxurious, but for the price and that real-deal immersion, I’d book it again in a heartbeat. Just pack light for those stairs, and time your visit for spring to beat the summer heat—honestly, you’ll thank me later.

The property is ideally located in the center of Verona, spotless, spacious, it is fully equipped with everything you might need. Pietro is a great host that does the best for the guest interest. My mother and daughter also loved our stay. We will surely come again!

What could be improved: Nothing there to dislike. All was great.

  • Exceptional – Sebastiano from Italy – 21 April 2025 (10/10)

La mattina caffè offerto dal signor Parisi e poi via, in giro per il centro a dieci minuti dall'appartamento.

  • Kaupunkiloma – Riikka from Finland – 17 June 2025 (4/10)

Avaimen noudosta oli tehty hyvät videot. Varsi-imuri oli kätevä. Sijainti oli huippu!

What could be improved: Ohjeet, kuinka toimitaan.
