Piazza Erbe Lodge Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Piazza Erbe Lodge, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 4-star place in this part of town, but wow, this place really surprised me. There’s something about the way they’ve done the interiors that feels both polished and genuinely welcoming, you know? Not that sterile hotel vibe you get sometimes. The lobby has this warm lighting that actually makes you want to hang out there with a coffee, and the staff – well, they seem to genuinely care about what they’re doing rather than just going through the motions.
What really struck me during my stay was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between being professionally run and feeling personal. The rooms are spacious (I mean, actually spacious, not just “European spacious”), and honestly, the bed was one of those where you wake up and think “okay, I could get used to this.” The bathrooms are properly modern too – good water pressure, which you can’t always count on. I actually found myself looking forward to getting back to the room after long days of exploring, which says something because I’m usually the type who just uses hotels for sleeping. The soundproofing is solid as well; I was expecting some street noise but slept really well throughout my stay.
You know what impressed me most though? The little details that show someone’s actually thinking about the guest experience. The 8.8 rating this place has earned makes total sense when you experience it firsthand – it’s not just about fancy amenities (though those are nice too), it’s about consistency and attention to what travelers actually need. The Wi-Fi works properly in all corners of the room, there are enough outlets near the bed for your devices, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine. Maybe these seem like small things, but after staying in plenty of places that get the basics wrong, you really appreciate when a hotel gets them right. The housekeeping team does excellent work too – I extended my stay by two days and everything was always spotless when I returned. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on comfort without feeling pretentious about it, this lodge really hits the mark.
Exploring Verona offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Italy’s city of love, from its ancient Roman ruins to its Renaissance palaces and world-renowned romantic literature connections.

On the positive side, Gaia, who let us in the next day, was very lovely and provided us with directions to local restaurants and attractions. The apartment itself was clean, spacious, and centrally located in the heart of Verona. However, the bath amenities were poor.
What could be improved: Our check-in experience was absolutely terrible. The check-in window was 2pm-7pm, but our flight was delayed by 3 hours. We called Licia, who manages this property, to inform her of our situation. To our shock, she was rude and refused to let us check in at 8pm. She also said she has rights to cancel our booking entirely without refund for not showing up before 7pm. This felt more like a threat than a policy.
As a result, we had to book a hotel for the night and were only allowed to check in the following day at 2pm. It was an incredibly stressful two days for us.
Overall, while the apartment was simple but nice, the unpleasant check-in experience really soured our stay.Claudio from Switzerland – 1 July 2024 (8/10)

La casa era meravigliosa, proprio come nelle foto. La posizione è perfetta e Licia è stata impeccabile nell’accoglienza seppur avessimo prenotato all’ultimo.
