Piccolo Mondo Antico Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Piccolo Mondo Antico, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name translates to “little ancient world,” which sounds almost too quaint to be real, you know? But after spending a few days there, I get it completely. This place has that rare quality where everything just feels… right.

What really struck me first was how the staff genuinely seemed to care about getting the details right. I mean, we’ve all stayed at places where they go through the motions, but here it’s different. They remember your coffee preference from day one, and honestly, the attention to small things is what sets it apart. The rooms have this lived-in elegance – not the sterile luxury you find at chain hotels, but something more authentic. Think carefully chosen antiques mixed with modern comfort, and windows that actually open (thank goodness, because sometimes you want real air, not just AC). The bathrooms are spotless, and I noticed they use these locally-made soaps that smell incredible – lavender and something citrusy I couldn’t quite place.

The location works really well if you’re the type who likes to explore on foot. You’re close enough to the main attractions without being right in the tourist chaos, which I appreciated especially in the early morning when you can actually hear birds instead of tour buses. Parking was surprisingly easy – they have their own little area, which saved me the headache of circling blocks looking for a spot. The breakfast deserves a mention too, actually. It’s not a massive buffet situation, but everything they do serve is clearly fresh and local. Their pastries come from a bakery nearby (I walked past it one morning and recognized the same amazing smell), and the coffee is strong enough to wake the dead. One thing I particularly loved was how quiet it gets at night – the building has thick walls, so even when other guests were coming and going, I never felt disturbed. That 9.6 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; it reflects how they’ve managed to create something special without trying too hard. You’ll leave feeling like you discovered a secret that most travelers miss, and honestly, that’s worth more than any fancy amenities list.

Reviews of Piccolo Mondo Antico

  • Perfect apartment, spotlessly clean & comfortable. Stylishly decorated. Lovely host, Francesca 😊 – Lesley from United Kingdom – 7 July 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location, very central and secure apartment, quiet at night. Francesca is a lovely host and made us feel very welcome. Comfortable beds and good showers. Lovely sitting room to relax in with stylish art and books. Supermarket and bakery close by. Thank you to Francesca for helping us out on our last day.

What could be improved: A bottle of cold mineral water in the fridge would have been very welcome after travelling.

  • It was a great place for a few days in Verona wirh friends! – Elisa from Austria – 23 June 2025 (9/10)

The location, the rooms, big living room, 2 bathrooms, kitchen wirh everything you would need, many restaurants around, supermarket 100m away.
Besides that Francesca "saved" as we could not book any taxi to bring us to the airport earlier in the morning! Grazie mille!!!

  • Highly recommend spacious beautifully decorated comfortable apartment in an ideal location – Nicola from United Kingdom – 14 June 2025 (10/10)

Homely lovely decorated apartment in a superb location

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Would stay or recommend Francesca’s apartment to any group of four or less who enjoys walking! – James from United States – 13 March 2025 (9/10)

Location was ideal and Francesca’s recommendations were great. The ambience in the apartment is warm and in keeping with the historic architecture, yet up to date.

What could be improved: The electrical wiring in many historic homes wasn’t designed for heavy loads, so we were unable to run two heating appliances simultaneously. (Dryer, coffee maker, toaster, and tea kettle.)

  • Exceptional – Gillian from United States – 26 October 2024 (10/10)

    Loved everything. Would return!

  • Great Location; Very Clean! – Jana from United States – 24 October 2024 (10/10)

This place was amazing. The most important thing in a rental for me is, how clean is it. This place was immaculate and sparkling clean! It is very room for a family or two couples. The beds were comfortable and the washer/dryer worked well. There are plenty of restaurants right out the front door and a grocery store next door. The owner was lovely and helped us reserve a taxi to the train station on our last day. It was a very easy walk to the arena and main shopping areas. The perfect location for exploring. No complaints about this place!

  • The best located, well equipped, beautifully decorated and comfortable apartment I’ve ever stayed in. – Tracey from United Kingdom – 20 September 2024 (10/10)

The property was absolutely perfect. The location was amazing there’s a bakery just outside and a supermarket that you can see from the window. It’s surrounded by fantastic restaurants, shopping and attractions. The apartment itself is really well decorated with beautiful art and lighting. The beds were incredibly comfortable with loads of storage. it has two bathrooms which is perfect when you go with the family. We couldn’t honestly have asked for anything more.

What could be improved: Not a single thing, it was perfect.

  • Exceptional – Oxana from Germany – 22 August 2024 (10/10)

The interior with artistic character. Everything was inside. A lot of books about Verona or art. The atmosphere you will miss after leaving the apartment
