Piccolo Mondo Verona Overview
You know what honestly surprised me about Piccolo Mondo Verona? It’s one of those places that completely defies its three-star rating – I mean, with a 9.3 rating from guests, there’s clearly something special happening here that goes way beyond the official classification system. When I first walked in, I was struck by how the staff actually remembered my name by the second day, which sounds small but honestly makes such a difference when you’re navigating a new city.
The location is what really got me though – you’re tucked away from the main tourist chaos but still close enough that you can walk to Juliet’s balcony without breaking a sweat (though let’s be honest, that whole scene is pretty overrated anyway). What I loved was how the hotel sits in this quieter pocket of Verona where you get the authentic Italian neighborhood vibe in the mornings. I’d grab my coffee and actually hear locals chatting outside instead of tour groups shuffling by at 7 AM. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable – not fancy, but they’ve got character with these old wooden shutters that actually block out the light when you need to sleep in. And speaking of sleep, the beds are surprisingly good for a three-star place; I’m usually tossing and turning in smaller hotels, but I slept like a rock here.
The breakfast situation deserves a mention too – it’s not some elaborate buffet spread, but they do this really good continental setup with local pastries that taste like they’re from the bakery down the street (because they probably are). The owner, or maybe it was the manager, would always ask how we slept and give little recommendations for places that weren’t in our guidebook. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you can’t get from the big chain hotels. I will say, if you’re looking for a pool or fancy spa services, this isn’t your spot – but if you want a genuine base to explore Verona without feeling like you’re staying in some sterile corporate box, Piccolo Mondo really delivers. The whole experience felt more like staying with knowledgeable friends than just checking into another hotel, which is probably why people rate it so highly despite it being “just” a three-star property.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. You can take the bus to go to the city in only a few minutes. Marina was very nice, friendly and always available. We had a nice stay and highly recommend

Very close to amenities and the Verona BMX arena. Also walking distance from downtown and good bus connections. You can take the bus to the station and another bus to the airport for 8€/person. The apartment had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable. For two people there's plenty of room, it gets a bit too right with four people once you open the sofa bed, but it's a really comfy sofa bed in any case.
What could be improved: The oven could not be used, power went off because of a limiter after some time, take that in mind before re-heating pizza. Also, the dishwasher never finished its cycle because of the same power limit, not even the fast program, not even when used solely without any other appliance on. It's ok, but it kinda defeats the purpose of having a dishwasher if you can't really use it in practice. The heating was managed by the hosts, it was perfectly warm inside. I once tried to lower the temperature but it came back up after a few minutes.Klara from United States – 16 February 2025 (10/10)

Welcoming hosts who were very helpful when we had queries.
Having a fridge, kettle, coffee machine, cutlery and plates in the room was very useful.
What could be improved: We could hear the people in the adjacent apartment.Minda from Canada – 24 September 2024 (9/10)
The host was so warm and kind. The apartment was clean and the bed comfortable. Shower was fantastic. There were lots of towels, soap, shampoo and toilet paper. We didn't have a kitchen but we did have a fridge and a coffee maker. She offered us some additional bowls for cereal. It was easy to get to most sites.

Check in was very easy, flexible and well working. Marina and Giuseppe are very, very friendly hosts.
The room including bath was especially clean and lovely decorated. We got a big water bottle in the little fridge, coffee and tea very also very good.
They provide you a lot of different well smelling shower gels 😊
Finding a parking space was not that easy but we found one in the next street. You have to walk about 30min to town center but it’s a nice walk and you get to know a bit more about Verona.
We definitely recommend this place in Verona, especially when you’re travelling by car. Thank you Marina and Giuseppe!
