Hotel Description

I remember pulling up to Queen East Verona apartments on a drizzly afternoon last spring – you know, that time of year when Verona’s streets start buzzing with early tourists but the air still has that crisp, flowery bite from the nearby Adige River. It’s tucked away on Via Matteo Pasti in Borgo Venezia, which isn’t the glitzy historic center like around Piazza delle Erbe, but honestly, that’s part of its charm. This neighborhood feels more like real Verona life – think quiet residential blocks with locals zipping by on Vespas, a little corner market just down the street where I grabbed some fresh prosciutto and pecorino for a quick snack (pro tip: it’s way cheaper than the tourist traps). The building itself looks unassuming from the outside, sort of modern with clean lines and big windows, but stepping inside, well, it hits you how thoughtfully it’s put together. No stuffy hotel lobby vibe here; it’s apartments, so check-in was a breeze with a code they emailed ahead – perfect if you’re arriving late after a flight into Valerio Catullo Airport, which is only about 20 minutes away by cab.

What really sold me on the place – and yeah, it’s got that solid 8.8 rating for a reason – is how it balances comfort with that lived-in Italian flair. My one-bedroom unit had these high ceilings and a kitchenette that actually worked (not one of those token setups where the stove’s more decorative than functional), stocked with basics like olive oil and a decent espresso machine. I mean, brewing my own coffee while overlooking the courtyard garden – complete with those terra cotta pots and the faint scent of rosemary – made mornings feel downright luxurious. The bed was plush, sheets crisp and cool, though fair warning, the pillows are on the firmer side, which might not suit everyone (I ended up flipping mine around a bit). It’s in a pretty peaceful spot noise-wise, especially at night when the neighborhood quiets down around 10 PM – no blaring horns from the main drags like Corso Porta Nuova, which is a 15-minute walk west. But if you’re into exploring, it’s super handy: hop on a bus from the stop right around the corner on Via San Nazaro, and you’re at the Arena di Verona in under 10 minutes. Oh, and parking – street spots are available but can be a hunt during peak season (May to September), so if you’re driving, ask about their garage option ahead of time. One minor gripe? The Wi-Fi dipped a tad in the evenings, but nothing a quick reset couldn’t fix.

All in all, if you’re the type who wants to skip the cookie-cutter hotel scene and actually feel like you’re staying in Verona – maybe with a family or for a longer trip – Queen East is a gem. It’s got that four-star polish without the pretension, and at that price point, you’re getting way more space and authenticity than some overpriced spots in the centro storico. I’d go back in a heartbeat, especially in fall when the area’s vineyards start turning colors and it’s less crowded. Just pack comfortable shoes for those walks to the river – trust me, the views (and gelato stops along the way) are worth it.

this is a beautiful apartment in a nice neighborhood. super clean with a comfortable bed and couches and cute lil terrace to enjoy a glass of wine at sunset. loved having a full kitchen especially with a supermarket so close by (3 minute walk) and a washer in the unit is a huge plus.

  • Marion from United Kingdom – 6 September 2024 (9/10)

    So clean, helpful!

  • Debra from United Kingdom – 16 June 2024 (9/10)

Extremely comfortable and light apartment, everything you could possibly need, modern and spacious.

What could be improved: It was on the top floor with a few flights of stairs to navigate.

  • Romolo from Canada – 1 June 2024 (9/10)

    Great location centre of town

  • Laila from United Kingdom – 19 October 2023 (9/10)

Nice, clean, comfortable, well equipped apartment.

What could be improved: Nothing, we had a great stay.

  • Borders from United Kingdom – 10 October 2023 (9/10)

Plenty of space and well equipped. Quiet suburban location with several good restaurants and grocery shops within a short walk. About a 30 min easy walk into the city centre ( bus options close by as well plus about 10-15 min walk to the railway station).

  • Andreicatalinboaca from Netherlands – 9 June 2023 (8/10)

The property itself is a 30 mins walk from the city center which is quite good. It is very roomy, and you have pretty much all you need in there. It is a very good choice when it comes to quality vs. price. Vast parking oportunities, local supermarket 2 mins away, Lidl 5 mins away.

What could be improved: Well, the location is great during day,but that fades away during the evening / night. The aircon would need a service or maybe a second one would need to be added, as it gets very hot inside (top floor). The place wasn't as clean as we were expecting, but maybe it was a one time miss that happened when we were there.

  • Sale from Serbia – 13 March 2023 (9/10)

Apt was very modern and clean and big!

What could be improved: An elevator would have been nice but luckily we were not in and out all day.

  • Saivanko from United Kingdom – 5 November 2022 (9/10)

very modern, clean and felt really comfortable

What could be improved: top floor and no lift. I had to sleep in the sofa bed as we didn’t get the twin that we booked

  • Yulia from United States – 2 August 2022 (9/10)

Nice and clean apartment. Well equipped kitchen. Laundry machine. Street parking available. Good wifi speed. Easy self check in.

What could be improved: There is only one AC unit in the living room. It took almost half a day to cool down the whole apartment (no additional AC units in bedrooms).
