You know what caught me off guard about Quellenhof Luxury Resort Lazise? It’s actually tucked away from the main tourist chaos of Lake Garda’s eastern shore, but somehow you still get those incredible lake views that everyone comes here for. I mean, when you’re dealing with a 9.5 rating and five stars, you expect something special – but this place delivers in ways that honestly surprised me.

The whole property feels like someone took a traditional Italian villa concept and gave it this really sophisticated spa resort treatment. The thermal pools here aren’t just your typical hotel amenities – they’re fed by natural hot springs, and honestly, soaking in them while looking out over the lake is probably worth the room rate alone. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to keep things feeling intimate despite being a proper luxury resort. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which is refreshing when you’re used to those massive chain hotels where you’re just another room number.

Lazise itself is this perfectly preserved medieval town – you can walk to the old castle walls and the harbor in about ten minutes from the resort, which gives you the best of both worlds. During summer the town gets pretty crowded with day-trippers, but staying at Quellenhof means you can enjoy the peaceful mornings and evenings when the tour buses have cleared out. The resort’s restaurant is surprisingly good too (I was skeptical about hotel dining, but their risotto game is strong), though you’ll definitely want to venture into town for some of those lakeside trattorias. Parking at the resort is straightforward, which is honestly a relief because finding a spot in central Lazise during peak season can be a nightmare. One small thing – the rooms facing the courtyard are quieter if you’re sensitive to sound, since the lake-view rooms can catch some noise from the boats in the morning. But honestly, waking up to that view of Lake Garda with the Alps in the distance? Totally worth a little early morning boat traffic.

  Staff couldn’t do enough for us – every single one was so pleasant, polite and helpful! The room was lovely and the pool and spa were very relaxing and well maintained. The private transport and pickup from Lazise was an added bonus. Manager even checked in at dinner to make sure everything was ok.

  Apartment suite was very comfortable and the pool complex is beautiful! Sadly, obligations didn’t allow us to enjoy them so we will be back and you need more than 2 days here!!

  This is a real 5 stars spa-resort hotel for wealthy people. There are many wellness and spa programs in the hotel. Outdoor swimming pools with heated water are open even in winter. The cleanliness of the hotel and pools is perfect everywhere! The owners are most likely Germans or Swiss. Breakfast offers a large selection of different products of very high quality for every taste: sausages, ham, cape, fish, omelettes, various cereals … and a large variety of premium alcohol.
  A couple of kilometers – Lake Gardo. This is a very pleasant place. If there is a need for a trip to Milan area, I will stay at this hotel again.
  
  What could be improved: The hotel is 6 years old and it was already felt: the room had an unpleasant smell of either food or alcohol absorbed into the upholstered furniture, and the sagging mattress by the bed already needed to be replaced. The towel for the outdoor pool is disgusting quality and color. Bed linen and duvet are not premium quality. I would change the sheets and blankets in the rooms as well as the bath towels.

  We loved the property from start to finish. Spa, restaurant, staff were all exceptional. Being a new experience for us… We will definitely be back and want to try their other resorts!
