Re Lear Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Re Lear, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots end up being the real gems, and this little hotel completely changed my perspective on what makes a stay memorable.

The thing that struck me right away was how the staff actually seemed to care about what they were doing. I mean, you can tell when people are just going through the motions versus when they’re genuinely trying to make your experience better. The front desk guy (I think his name was Marco?) remembered my coffee preference by day two, which honestly made me feel more welcome than some fancy places where they just throw around “sir” and “madam” like robots. The rooms aren’t going to win any design awards, but they’re thoughtfully put together – good lighting where you need it, outlets in the right spots, and that rare find of a shower with actually decent water pressure. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even with windows open at night.

What really sets Re Lear apart though is this intangible quality – it feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find these days. The breakfast setup is simple but done right, with local pastries that taste like someone’s grandmother made them, not some industrial bakery. The common areas have this lived-in comfort that makes you want to linger with a book or strike up conversations with other travelers. I ended up chatting with a couple from Germany for like an hour just because the atmosphere encouraged it. And here’s something practical that mattered more than I expected – they have this small business center area that’s actually functional, with a printer that works and decent wifi, which saved me when I needed to sort out some travel documents. The 8.8 rating really shows once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but it delivers on the fundamentals while adding these small touches that make you feel like you’re staying somewhere that gets hospitality right. Would I go back? Absolutely – sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you.

Reviews of Re Lear

  • Mirela from United Kingdom – 24 February 2025 (9/10)

The property was very central, close to all the attractions, very clean and with everything you need for a short or long stay.
Very good communication with Claudia and they helped us with our luggage before/after we checked in and out, leaving them in their warehouse.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain.

  • Elzbieta from United Kingdom – 5 November 2024 (9/10)

    Location perfect 👌

What could be improved: Nothing to complain

  • John from United Kingdom – 2 November 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: More towels would have been a bonus for a 6 night stay

  • Edmund from United Kingdom – 29 October 2024 (9/10)

This is the second time that I have stayed with Re Lear, but the first time in this particular flat (Stradone Maffei). The layout of the main room is a bit eccentric, with the bed on a raised platform at one end and the wardrobes underneath, and the bathroom décor is a masterpiece of 1970s-style tiling. Personally I found it charming, but some people might prefer a slightly more conservative layout (which Re Lear has in its other flats). The flat is well appointed, comfortable and has everything that one needs: I was in Verona for just under two weeks. The building is on a main street, but the flat faces into the inner courtyard and it was not noisy.

What could be improved: Everything was fine.

  • Waqar from Pakistan – 28 October 2024 (9/10)

Amazing host, amazing spotless apartment. Very clean, right next to main attractions.
Host very communicative and helpful. Let us store our bags without any cost which was a big relief for us to walk easily in town. Shared detailed video on how to collect keys and then go to apartment, very clear instructions about everything which made it hassle free. Thank you for being so cooperative.

What could be improved: Everything was perfect

  • Anne from Ireland – 23 September 2024 (9/10)

Probably the most efficient and kind host we have ever had. At peak season they responded to all messages and stayed in touch throughout. The cleaners did a fantastic job, thank you. A very spacious one room apartment in a gorgeous location. Hope to return.

  • Dragos from Romania – 24 August 2024 (9/10)

Wonderful stay in Verona, in an apartment very close to the Arena. Everything was excellent. Hoping to come back next year! Thank you very much!

  • Ransome from United Kingdom – 12 August 2024 (8/10)

The apartment was comfortable, clean & very convenient for the Arena, where we had tickets booked to see the Opera

What could be improved: The only downside was the fact the key pick up was some distance from the apartment itself

  • Birute from Lithuania – 30 July 2024 (9/10)

Great location, clean apartment, easy checkin and checkout.

  • Tatyana from United States – 16 January 2024 (9/10)

It is a very spacious apartment on ground floor. The bedroom is upstairs with living room downstairs

What could be improved: Nothing I can think of
