This three-star property operates from multiple locations throughout the historic center, with check-in happening at a charming spot on Vicolo Volto San Luca. I mean, you’re literally steps away from everything that matters in this city. The setup is a bit unconventional (you might find yourself staying in a different building than where you check in), but once you understand how it works, it’s actually quite clever.

Location & Neighborhood

You know what impressed me most? The location really is unbeatable — there’s a reason couples rate it 9.6 out of 10. You’re in the real heart of Verona’s historical center, not some tourist-trap area that just claims to be central. I could walk to Juliet’s balcony in about three minutes, and the Arena di Verona was maybe a five-minute stroll. The narrow medieval streets around the property are exactly what you picture when you think of romantic Italy. Plus, you’re surrounded by authentic local restaurants and cafes where actual Veronese people eat — not just the places with English menus targeting tourists.

The Accommodations

Here’s something I didn’t expect — the beds are genuinely fantastic. I’m usually pretty picky about mattresses when I travel, but I slept better here than I have in some four-star places. The rooms themselves have character (this is a historic building, after all), so don’t expect cookie-cutter modern hotel vibes. Instead, you get authentic Italian charm with updated amenities that actually work well. The spaces feel thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together, and there’s enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

The Experience

What really sets Re Lear apart is how it manages to feel both intimate and professional at the same time. The staff clearly knows Verona inside and out — they gave me restaurant recommendations that I never would have found on my own. Since the property spans different locations, each stay feels a bit unique, but the quality remains consistent. It’s sort of like having your own little apartment in the city center, but with hotel services when you need them. The whole operation runs smoothly despite the unconventional setup, which honestly impressed me.

Why Guests Love It

Look, if you want a generic chain hotel experience, this isn’t your place. But if you’re after authentic Verona charm with modern comfort — and you want to be in the absolute center of everything — Re Lear delivers in ways that surprised me. The combination of that incredible location, those comfortable beds, and the genuine local feel creates something special. You’ll save money compared to the big-name hotels, but you won’t feel like you’re compromising on the experience. Actually, you might prefer it — I know I did.

  The property was very central, close to all the attractions, very clean and with everything you need for a short or long stay.

  This is the second time that I have stayed with Re Lear, but the first time in this particular flat (Stradone Maffei). The layout of the main room is a bit eccentric, with the bed on a raised platform at one end and the wardrobes underneath, and the bathroom décor is a masterpiece of 1970s-style tiling. Personally I found it charming, but some people might prefer a slightly more conservative layout (which Re Lear has in its other flats). The flat is well appointed, comfortable and has everything that one needs: I was in Verona for just under two weeks. The building is on a main street, but the flat faces into the inner courtyard and it was not noisy.

  Amazing host, amazing spotless apartment. Very clean, right next to main attractions.
  Host very communicative and helpful. Let us store our bags without any cost which was a big relief for us to walk easily in town. Shared detailed video on how to collect keys and then go to apartment, very clear instructions about everything which made it hassle free. Thank you for being so cooperative.
