Relais Balcone di Giulietta Overview

You know what really gets me about Relais Balcone di Giulietta? It’s one of those places where the name actually means something – and I’m not just talking about the obvious Juliet connection that draws everyone to Verona in the first place. When I first walked into this boutique hotel, I honestly wasn’t expecting much beyond the usual tourist trap vibes, but there’s something genuinely intimate about the whole experience that caught me off guard.

The building itself has this wonderful lived-in elegance – you can tell it’s been carefully restored without losing that authentic Italian character that so many places seem to scrub away in the name of modernization. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully appointed rather than flashy, with those little touches that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s well-curated home rather than a hotel. Actually, the staff treats you that way too – there’s this warmth in how they handle everything from check-in to restaurant recommendations that feels refreshingly unscripted. I mean, when the front desk person takes five minutes to draw you a little map showing the best gelato spot (which, by the way, is absolutely not the touristy place near Juliet’s balcony), you know you’re dealing with people who actually care about your experience.

What really sold me, though, was how quiet it gets in the evenings – and if you’ve spent any time in Verona’s centro storico during peak season, you’ll appreciate just how rare that is. The location gives you easy walking access to all the main sights without putting you right in the middle of the evening crowd chaos, which honestly made all the difference for actually getting decent sleep. The morning routine here is particularly lovely – breakfast isn’t some massive buffet production, but rather this more personal affair where everything feels fresh and locally sourced. I found myself lingering over coffee longer than usual, partly because the setting invites it, but also because the staff never made me feel rushed to clear out for the next wave of guests. With a 9.6 rating, I was expecting something special, but sometimes those numbers can be misleading – in this case, though, it feels completely earned through all these small, genuine touches rather than flashy amenities or over-the-top service theatrics.

Apartments in Verona provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Italian markets and experience daily life in historic Renaissance neighborhoods.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Magical – A Dream Come True!

Staying at Relais Balcone di Giulietta was truly one of the best experiences of my life! It felt like a dream from start to finish. We had the entire patio to ourselves, right where Juliet’s statue and the famous balcony are—it was beyond magical and so surreal!

The room was spacious, cozy, and beautifully designed, with an incredible balcony overlooking the city—a perfect touch. And the bathroom? Absolutely spectacular! Every little detail was just perfect.

If you're looking for a romantic and unforgettable stay in Verona, this is the place to be. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Perfect location for sightseeing, stunning property, beautiful rooms.

What could be improved: Only issue was not being able to get into the property until another guest let me in.
I was asked a time of arrival but there’s was no one answering the door when I arrived.
